Hello everyone!

Simple question:
Is it better to have 10k Twitter followers or a Facebook page with 10k likes? In both cases, it's 'untargeted' people, just random folks, most of whom are probably not really interested in either my tweets nor my page.

The answer to this question may be "depends on the purpose". However, the exact purpose is yet to be defined. I just want to know what will give me more opportunities when dealing with several different methods of money making in the future - twitter followers or Facebook likes.

Thanks for any answers.

yep i would say facebook if they are real people. IMO twitter is way too much spam now.

I dont know anyone that really uses twitter any more except for marketers to get traffic.

like any given time of the day or night...
to easy to unfollow on twitter and like someone said too much sapm

If you have real facebook Fans, 10k of facebook is way better than twitter.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Facebook seems the way to go then.

Right now, I'm only collecting likes from "youlikehits", i.e. it's all anonymous, non-targeted people who simply "like" my page because they want to get my points.

Not sure if those will be useful for anything in the future, since I suppose that 90% of them will have no interest in my page or in whatever I'll have to say...

Facebook is definitely better, but that has been established already.

The use of the page should be thought about though - but I've used large pages like this as proof that I can do it. You may not be able to monetize this page for anything, BUT you could use it to show small businesses or other companies that you can create a successful facebook page for either freelance work or other job opportunities.

Man if your collecting from youlikehits, you'll probably end up getting all FAKE likes.

Better Buy a tweet attacks Pro and build your Twitter Empire.

Rather than wasting time getting the likes which will give you nothing but numbers on facebook.

Yes, that's what I'm worried about. Collecting many likes, but none of them will be helpful in any way because they are just random, uninterested people.

On the other hand: If those likes are good for nothing, what is a site like youlikehits good for at all? I've seen people here on this forum rejoicing when youlikehits made it possible to get facebook likes again recently. So I figured it has to be worth something.

Another thought: Even if having a facebook page with many likes won't help me much with, say, marketing a product or a website - would it be good for fiverr gigs like "I will advertise your website/product on my facebook page with 10k likes"? Or how many likes would be needed to make a bit of money with that method?

Thanks again for all the replies so far, hoping to see a couple more.

why are the likes worth so much? if someone becomes a fan, it still does not show in their newsfeed

well i dont know too much about facebook but advertising on my twitter account which has around 10k followers gets around $2 a day from advertising on it, if you were to have multiple accounts then you could definitely make a decent chunk of change every month on it

If untargeted followers, the facebook page with 10K likes is better.

But I think its still depends on how you use those followers and likes.

But if your link got retweeted 10K times, it is much better than your link getting 10K likes.

Both are good if you know what to do with them. Facebook for the fan pages.. And Twitter for the targeting capabilities.
