Adsense seems like an unviable monetization method for the average SEO'er

The secret to Adasense is finding the right keywords that pay well for internal page clicks.

For example: For the sake of argument, lets say that the keyword "drug rehab" would cost you $200.00 to get top ranking in Adwords. From that $200,00 you would expect a very good price per click from your site! However, the truth is you would probably get less than $1 for an internal click from your website as it is classed as less targeted than the top ad on the results page of a Google search. So, you would be much better off finding a keyword for lets say $20,00 to rank number 1 via Adwords on Google search but pays you $3 for a click on your internal page.

I hope that explains a little about how some people can make a lot of money via Adsense!

With adsense its all about your Niche and Keywords. I have microniche sites that only get about 100 UV a day and they generate 10$/site.

LOL Very thin and empty MFA sites are not a good way to make money on adsense.
If I see one ranking well for my keyword, I immediately report it to google to get it banned asap.

If you did not read Fat Cat Blueprint than you shouldnt even try adsense.

Prijateljski savjet...

So stiflersmom would you say, coming form that arena, that affiliate marketing would be a better bet in my position (with no money to invest really and alot of time).

While I'm totally planning to figure out how to really turn MadeForAdsense sites into a serious revenue stream ... right now I'm more successful with CPA offers.

It's just easier for me to come up with ... lets say besti7coolers.com and put some reviews and comparison charts online, targeting "ProductX Review" or "best core i7 coolers" or even "best XYZ supplements 2011" and directly send my visitors to the sales page.

That way I know the CTR will be at least 10%+ and those ppl are ready to buy with their CC's sitting on the table already. :D

That doesn't necessarily mean you're better off with affiliate marketing ... like the guys above wrote, if you know your sh*t - adsense can be a $$machine ... I for myself just haven't figured it out yet.

I started about a year ago. I have recently starting trying to do CB with youtube - ill have 2 c how it goes. Do you reccommend CTR theme by the way?

I don't use that theme myself but I know a couple of successful guys that do.

I think I'd be better off with CB in the short term from what I'm reading.

Al of that depends on your niche... I generate about 8K a month from adsense these days and most of my 40 sites are Business, Finance and Employment.

I make around 10 to 25 euro daily and i think am doing well.
Can you share some tips for us?

On my main blog I'm at about $50 CPM, but my views are still really low. I need to add more content and more backlinking, but I can see this being a viable source of no-hands income.

For the average SEOer (like myself) that wants a steady stream of average income with a blog or two (my sights are set on 3 blogs) in a micro-niche, such as local keywords, I don't see it being bad.

Good point about a thin MFA site; my MFA sites are no smaller than 150 pages of unique content and my largest one is close to 1900 pages.

Build bigger sites, get more KWs ranked, get more traffic, make more money.

The more money part is the one I really like.

I'll skype a link to one of my latest projects and you'll see how I do it.

The one I am sending you is 8 weeks old, gets 250 uv a day and makes about 80.00 a day from adsense.

skype me the link too....please.

I mean if you feel comfortable sharing it with me.

thanks

BIG FAVOR PLEASE!!!! :D Can you PM me that site? I have been doing CPA's and Products (CB, CJ, MH, MB) for a while and would really like to see how an expert does the Adsense thing.

While doing CPA and Products, I kept Adsense off my pages (no escape route), but I have a few informational blogs that I think Adsense may work on but wasn't sure what a "Profitable" Adsense site looked like.

Try ranking with images you can do this with free blogs I reckon. One of my site suddently started recieving a really big amount of visitors all day that I did not target. They where all coming from google image results. I then started upgrading my whole site towards the "Picture" macro-niche and its paying of pretty nice. Its about 500-900 Visitors a day just from pictures, using a frame breaker that redirects people to the picture page that translates into a 1-3% conversion rate depending on how much viral stuff there is going on about my niche (Celebrity Niche).

You have to be creative and also go deep with your keyword research.
How to make money with Google images? Can you give a brief tutorial? Thanks.

I asked if you would share and send it via PM, if Skype is better for you, that is fine with me, I just thought a PM might be easier or quicker for you.

Thank you!!

@Ranko ... I totally understand your concerns.

I just recently started to throw a handful of MFA sites into the mix. Coming from pure affiliate marketing (always pushing a specific product) I was used to at least 1 signup/conversion for about 200 visitors averaging like $30-$80 ... assuming a CTR of ~15%.

My MFA sites are starting to rank for some "ok" terms now and I'm seeing between 30 and 100 uniques a day per domain now from G. But at a CTR of ~2% I'm pulling in just a little over $1 per day on average for all 3 sites combined!

Considering the amount of time I've put into creating content and building backlinks I don't see a big ROI here yet:pokey:

Good input Stiflersmom, I have similar experiences. With your affiliate marketing, was it 30-80 per DAY? Down to $1 with adsense? If so, ouch!!

Basstracker, I know you're probably inundated with requests but as long as you feel comfortable showing me I am very curious as to how you make a big site which can target many, many keywords, AND successfully rank for them all with efficiency (relatively low cost/time+effort). The whole attraction of the classic xfactor site is of course being able to access high traffic for a relatively small amount of labor (well, it used to be, anyway) - since typically you'd get an EMD, you'd only write 3-5 articles, throw up a Xsitepro theme or WP theme then make 20-50 backlinks and you're done. With larger sites of course there is a large investment in quality content and site design, even before the mammoth task of SEO begins. Most talk on BHW centers around ranking for X or Y keyword, not X or Y (HUNDRED!) keywords in one go. How the hell can you manage this economically?

If I could just figure out how it can be done economically, then perhaps I would be able to give G what it wants and diversify my business model. Actually, ranking economically for large amounts of keywords using just one site is a very interesting topic in and of itself.

Also props to Ranko for raising this issue. I was actually suffering in silence, lol. Being on page 1 with 5 adsense sites making 3 dollars a day total. Though I haven't touched them for around 8 months (moved into actual product sales), it is still shameful.

What is your daily traffic and how long did it take to rank for them? If it didn't take too long and wasn't that hard I could see it being a reasonable way to earn a living by scaling up.

From what I've read though I've pretty much decided on the CB route for now though keeping my mind/eyes open as my opinion may change in a flash at this early stage :D.

@Ranko currently on the road, but I can pm you one of my simple affil sites+earnings+awstats later to give you a better idea of how relatively easy it can be.;)

edit: PM sent :popworm:

Are you talking about your CB stats?

I'd be most interested in hearing about those now actually + average traffic per day you'd look for to make a sale- I think you mentioned 200 above right?

So pm with more info related to that would be sweet.

Cheers.
