flippa is definitely NOT dead. i can personally vouch for being a regular buyer. i bought 5 sites for a total of $1200 last week. they are all turn key type of sites and have no traffic though very promising in terms of attempting to grow and rank them. im new to flipping but my goal is to learn how to rank and grow them, make them moneymakers, then reflip them for profit. after this round of experimentation, i hope to start building my own sites and flipping them.
i have read all of Meathead's posts and they are hugely inspiring. anyone who says flippa or flipping websites in general is simply ignorant.
Its good you're taking action, but I personally would stay away from those "turn-key" sites you find on Flippa, as most of them don't end up making nearly as much as they claim they will.
With the $1200 you spent, you could have bought a few sites that are already getting traffic and revenue and just improved upon it. By buying a turn-key site, you're not much further than if you bought a domain name for under $10 and put your own content on it.
Not trying to discourage you at all as I do hope the sites you bought work out for you, but I just wanted to let you know that turn-key sites don't always turn out the way the seller promises.
