Why do people recommend that you use "exact match" numbers from Google Keyword Research tool?

Why are "broad match" results not good? Aren't most of the people how search for your keyword not going to use quotes? i.e. aren't most of the searches going to be broad searches?

Search the forum buddy, every answer is there....

Edit-just to make it clear,if I want to buy a car,I would go to Google and type "buy a car" (without quotes ofcoz) and not "hey guys actually I want to buy a car",these are called long tail keywords. So you should target "buy a car" rather than "planning to buy a car" "where to buy a car" 'think i should buy a car" etc. Hope it helps

Exact Match Domains , make it easier to rank for a particular keyword.

Above is correct, but it is a little more complicated than that.

Broad match (no quotes)- I am going to buy a watermelon at the store and put in my car (I like watermelons and its hot here).
so if you look for broad search volume you are getting ALL SEARCHES CONTAINING THAT KEYWORD, no matter what else is in the string. Cool?

Phrase Match ("buy a car")
Phrase match search volume is all search strings where the term buy a car appear together regardless of what other words are in typed into goregle. So go buy a car and bring me some damn watermelons would be tallied as one PHRASE MATCH search, are you with me?

Exact Match [buy a car] SEO people like us love the exact match search volume because that includes only the times someone has typed buy a car and NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS into gaygle, so the metrics returned from shitgle are way more accurate to the actual amount of real undiluted INTEREST there really is in our target keyword.

Note that this shit is notoriously inaccurate, but its all we got so we use it as a good general tool of market value.

Kind of how we all know that Alexa rank is bullshit and adplanner is bullshit, quantcast is bullshit, EPCs are always bullshit, but again, until the super data algorithm encryption loads up the random access memory file library shit tantrum buffer we do what we can with what we got.

Hope that shit helps

exact matches gives you the correct idea how many times that phrase is search and not a wildcard with longtail

i have exact match domain but i am getting more traffic from others keyword rather than that keyword. lolz

That's because the exact match domain is helping you pick up the broad and the phrase at the same time. Triple win

Okay wait.

I thought that phrase match "buy a car" is how many people type in "buy a car" WITH QUOTES into Google.

It seems that what you are saying is that phrase match "buy a car" is how many people type in 'i want to buy a car' without quotes and 'buy a car' without quotes, etc. etc.

Exact match is how many people type in 'buy a car' without quotes.
If so, then I understand the value of using exact match.

As others have stated, I prefer "exact match", it is more targeted and likely that the person searching is actually interested in what you have to offer.
