Massive Direct Scrapebox Blast on Brand New Website

After looking at your thread(and having SB sitting doing nothing). I decided to blast directly to the domain which had penalty/sandbox as it was sitting on 80th page or so after ranking on 4-5th page for few weeks. I left the site for few weeks after it dropped (the reason I think it dropped was it didnt have diversity). I decided to blast to 6k Unique Domains with SB as a attempt to collect Autoapprove list while still gaining link. I had to go through 250k urls to find this 6k domains but I managed to get 6k Different IP linking back so I think that was good.

Atm after waiting two weeks after blasting I am sitting on the 2nd page. If this is dance, I dont mind since I made quite few $$$ in adsense already enough to pay for the blast (if i paid for it), if its not dance then blasting directly doesnt hurt as much if you have diversity from different links / ips.

Guys when i try to extract backlinks from scrapebox i get error 404. Please what could be the problem.

You are probably using public proxies, which die fast. Test your proxies, and re-run the tool. I get lots of 404 errors when I do this, so I run it through a few times until I'm satisfied with the number of links I've extracted.

question: So I'm guessing it's like steroids, once you're on it you have to keep it up? Do you plan on tapering off or just continue blasting?

To make your AA lists do you do a blast then copy all the successfully checked links? Sorry if this is a stupid question I just got Scrapebox yesterday.

Pretty much, yeah.

Use either a made up URL or one of your sites you feel may be in the 'sandbox' (if it exists) and then after a link check, move the 'links found' to your Master AA List and amend.

I also move the 'links not found' to a History folder, and do the Import & Compare on future blasts, so I'm not going over old ground.

Thanks, so it's bad to do a blast to a URL you want to rank if it's not AA?

It depends. Do you have any contact details on the site you want to rank? You increase your chances of people contacting you because they're annoyed at you spamming their blogs - if you don't, you might be ok.

thank you a lot for this useful thread, your expirience is great, i'm also looking for a blast, I have a 8 years domain, but the content was added 1 month ago, what do you think, is it ok to start a 50k blast?
tnx

Hey Everyone,

I am going to post a much bigger post tonight. I just wanted to let everyone know that I had returned all PM's in my inbox. Thanks to everyone who messaged me.

All answer questions from this thread and give an update later tonight (PST time zone).

Questions and comments always welcome!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the delay in my posting! I just finished a huge contract with a very large company and will have the next 3-4 weeks to dedicate way more time to this thread as well as launching the SB site as well as helping all you guys out. To all who have PM'd me, I've gotten to all of your messages. Thanks for sending them!

First I'll do a long over due update, then I'll tackle questions and comments.

UPDATE:

Traffic to the site as stayed pretty steady since I stopped blasting the site after moving into phase two. Rankings have also held pretty well. All my main traffic generating keywords are maintaining there place on Google including my primary keyword which is still holding at position 7, page one.

Yahoo Site Explorer is reporting a mild decrease in links to 34,934. This is to be expected as pages and sites do go down. I expect this to stay right around there for a while. I have lots of deep links all across these blogs that may only be visited by a spider once a month, so I suspect I'll have a trickle of undiscovered back links being discovered as others go down.

Overall I am very happy with how the site has held up. It has been well over a month since the last blasts and content updates. I'll continue to monitor this site and provide periodic updates.

In the next week I will be launching a second open experiment, this time with a few observers from this thread to report back. I definitely want to provide verification, but have to stop short of openly sharing the URL due to trolls who would want to destroy something just for fun.

I am still looking for a few people who would like to volunteer and would agree to post in the thread at least twice a week verifying the site's progress. If you are interested, please PM me or hit me up on Skype.

QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Sorry if this has already been covered in this thread, but how do you go about creating your comments file?
Do you do generic comments, or spun comments related to your niche? Could you explain your process and thinking on this topic?

For comments, I used generic spun comments. Since I am targeting only AA lists, I just need something to stick in the comment box. I just add a few new comments to a master list that I use. All the comments are pretty heavily spun but still readable.

Any update to this, in the post-panda 2.2 world? I'd be interested to see if you saw any negative impact on rankings.

I've conducted this experiment all post Panda and have done great with it. Since Panda targeted article directories heavily, I think it has actually helped small content sites. I've had a much easier time ranking after changing my tactics away from directories.

good tips here, do you still increasing traffic?

Traffic is holding right now since I have stopped link building and content updates.

That's awesome that you decided to act and just go for it. Been a big reason why I have done this thread is to motivate others to just go for it. Awesome results too. How are you doing now?

One thing I would caution against is doing one time blasts then nothing more. I'd blast at least once a week for 4-6 weeks at a minimum to build up link velocity. You want much more of a bell curve than a sharp spike in links.

question: So I'm guessing it's like steroids, once you're on it you have to keep it up? Do you plan on tapering off or just continue blasting?

For link building with SB, you need to maintain link velocity. Some point soon I will write a detailed article about this. Once you build a large base of links over time, you can taper off and maintain rankings. The biggest no-no is to just do one or two mega blasts then do nothing after that. You need to build links for several weeks, then taper back over a couple more weeks so that it doesn't look so artificial.

50k is fine, but make sure you have more than that to follow up with. If you are going to start direct blasting and only have 50K links to use in SB, then I would divide that up into 10K chunks and blast it over 5 weeks (10k a week over 5 weeks). This way Google doesn't see a huge spike and then nothing. The links look a lot more natural.

Also be sure to continue to add content as you are building links. You want your site to come across as natural as possible. There definitely is a balance between off page link building and on page content. Make sure you maintain both.

Thanks everyone for your questions and comments! More are always welcome. Hoping to have some great stuff for all of you in the coming week.

I was wondering your opinion, I had a 5 year old page rank 2 domain that I put a database site on..... It was getting about 300 uniques a day eventually.. I did some small link building (mostly white hat) to get it to that level... Didn't make a tremendous amount of money with it, about 20 a day or so.... however, after running some huge scrapebox campaigns using purchased lists, etc and running it through dripable... the traffic spiked in a huge way.. I went from 300 uniques a day to 2K or better... Of course I knew this was not going to last, simply because I have experienced spikes like this before my site was deindexed from google.. but nevertheless I was excited simply because I haven't experienced a spike quite as substantial as this... Honestly, I thought since the domain had some age on it etc, that it would be okay.... To make a long story short, I think I nuked a good domain with a lot of potential...

What would you have done differently? I'm guessing I should have not hammered it with so many links? Because I did just what you said not to... I did a huge blast then stopped for awhile.. But it was deindexed pretty quickly after I stopped... What's your opinion? How could I have saved this domain? I'd like to not make the same mistake twice.

What minimum number of proxies do you recommend using for a 50k blast? I'm currently using only 10 private proxies and it takes a long time. I'm assuming the more proxies you use, the faster the blast. I could either get 25 more private proxies for $60/month or 100 shared proxies for $100/month. What do you recommend?

I am blasting my site tonight to 35k blogs. I wonder what will happen :D

Did you read the thread? You blasted once and fast indexed the bl's vs continuous blasting over weeks and only index the first small blast if the site is unknown (which yours wasn't). Do the math :D

Hey Everyone,

First I want to say thank you to everyone who posted above and complimented the thread. I am very glad that you all are getting something out of it! To everyone who has PM'd me, I have replied to your messages.

Not to much to add right now about the site. Traffic is pretty steady. I did notice on YSE that links had dropped a tad since my last post to 34,514. I kind of expected a little bit of settling as my links come off front pages or recent comment widgets on some WP sites. It hasn't effected ranking or traffic though. I am really happy with how the site is performing.

I am hoping to have my next open experiment up in two weeks. Right now I am working hard to get my SB lists site up and running. The first version of this site should be working by the end of the week. I will announce it here with a donor banner in my signature when it launches.

Now for QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS:

I think you already pointed out what went wrong. The bigger the blast is, the more important it is to maintain link velocity. If you are going to hall off 50K links in a blast (just as an example), you need to be able to do that again and again, at least once a week for I'd say 6-8 weeks. And definitely do not ping them! If it takes Google time to find the links, then Google will see new links everyday which helps maintain link velocity. Remember, its not how fast you post them, but when Google see's them that counts.

If you focus on long term blasting with your site and just keep hitting it hard, you can resurrect your site. It will take time, but it is doable. I wouldn't give up.

For posting I would go with the 25 private proxies for $60/month. Once an IP gets black listed on Alkimast, it is pretty worthless for posting and it is a safe bet that a lot of share proxies have already been mutilated by someone. Share are great for scraping though. I pay for both shared and private proxies.

I am blasting my site tonight to 35k blogs. I wonder what will happen :D

Good luck with your blast. Please remember to not do a one off blast if you are direct blasting your site! One of blasts are fine for second tier links (ie blasting the results of an AMR blast or SENuke blast) but definitely not good for direct blasting. If 35K blogs is all you have, break that in to 7K lists and spread it over 3 weeks doing roughly two blasts a week. This will be much better for you in the long run.

Thanks everyone for your questions and comments. They are always appreciated and always welcome. Keep them coming! I should have some good stuff for all of you by the end of the week!
