Hello,

I bought a domain for one of my blogs, and I would like to play a little bit with it. It's a WP blog, and I update it once-twice a week. I also wanted to install and update some plugins, but I noticed that some things are a can't-do, since it's not hosted on my own hosting. As a result, I decided to buy a hosting.

Now, I don't feel inclined to use 1and1 or godaddy hosting plans, since I'm not very much in the mood of paying around $5 on a monthly basis for that. I know this isn't a big amount of money, but I'm simply not planning to earn some bucks on this blog, and as a result it's not my plan to spend it, either.

So, what are my cheaper options? I notices once on this forum that someone is using nearlyfreespeach.com . How is that? Is it any good? Does anyone have WP blog on that and how much does he pay for it? Also, what is the service like over there?

TIA

I started free WP hosting on byethost two years back. Now I upgraded to their business hosting plan. They provide one of the best free hosting service.

is it risky to try free hosting services?
could be...one neva knows...so if that's your concern...roll on ova to host the name and pay a few pennies per month...

the owner is a online business newbie...he knows his tcp/ip sh!t...but is a total newbie when it comes to how to run a business with real live people that you may need to speak with and or help on occasion...this is where you have the upper hand...

Will you only be hosting the 1 blog or plan to host several on one account?

Only one... If more come by, I'd be willing to buy more.

Try byethost, its the cheapest - $0/month.

Thanks, I'll definitely check it out.

Cheers, as I mentioned above, I'll definitely check it out.

000webhost is free with NO strings attached.

Kinda suspicious about people who don't ask for ANY money :). Not sure why...

I see, Ok the reason I asked is because I use one of those hosts that are 5 dollars a month. But I have 20+ starter blogs on them right now so really isn't bad considering all of them on one account for 5. I am sure once the traffic picks up (well hoping they do lol) I will have to pay for more. But if you are just hosting one for a while I have seen some around for $3 a month for 1 site hosting. And might not be a bad idea to try some of those free hosts but it would seem suspicious to me naturally but you never though. Could be the best hosting!

I've had good luck with hostable.com. Free hosting for 3 years, unlimited bandwidth and domains. Support is a bit retarded, but sometimes you get a good one. They are a Brinkstar company (11 yrs of reputable Internet services) so they do have that. Check em out

just 1 thing : FREE HOSTING IS RISKY!
