Ask me ANYTHING about eBay!

Hey, sorry about not replying earlier; I was gone for the weekend. Just came back from a long trip; I'll get started on the responses tomorrow.

@Thunderplane - if you contact me personally on AIM: myecommerceguru, I can make a script to create the buyer accounts.

@markprendy -
1) If I was to send the same message to potential buyers would ebay bots pick this up?
If you send the same message multiple times, the bots would pick it up. Try to personalize your messages with tokens.

2) If I was to include an email address would I have to be discreet and put something along the lines of email(at)hotmail.com?
For once or twice, you can usually get away with it but if you're mass mailing you need to be discrete or else they'll spam filter you.

@3Infidels
Try pricing your products more competitively if you have trouble getting noticed or market it better with a more attractive picture/better description. You can also try unconventional strategies of bringing non-ebay traffic to your listing through SEO or direct marketing.

@bill
I do have accounts with feedback that I'm selling, but the fastest way to build feedback would just to be to sell cheap items that are in high demand (you might lose some money, but you're building an account). Don't buy too many cheap items or your account will get canned for feedback manipulation.

@thechairman
I think rolling blackouts are just rumors at best; they wouldn't do something that would hurt their bottom line. I've noticed groups of buyers from amazon as well and I'm definitely sure that amazon doesn't use blackouts

Timing doesn't matter for fixed listings although it is advantageous to generally end your auctions on sunday night because that's the time where there is most demand in the market.

Around 10 feedback, 1 year old. If you want, hit me up on my AIM: myecommerceguru

Have like 3 accounts that are like that.

i got 4 accounts with feedback from 1XX to 5xx, register around 2 years ago, two of them were below standard
is there any trick to boost it up?

Looking to build feedback on a new account, need some quick money so i want to start selling asap hence i'd like some fast feedback.

Any tips would b appreciated

thanx

my products are car accessories, e.g. car led light, wheel center caps, i buy it directly from china factory and send it by myself

i had obtained more than 100 positive feedback within 3 months

the products just only cost a few bucks and good for new account to obtain feedback

pm me if u would like to know more

Well, I don't think there is anything you need to ask about eBay. Ebay is a very clear shopping site popular worldwide to trade and sell.

@gonowbb - You can always buy cheap items to boost your feedback rating, but keep it in moderation, because if you buy too many cheap items they'll accuse you of feedback manipulation. Also, you can sell cheap goods that are in high demand; that would be a better way of boosting your detailed seller rating.

@maine101 - Even if you don't have lots of feedback, it shouldn't deter you from selling online. You can start perfectly fine even without feedback; if you want feedback, just buy a couple items to get started.

@RobinD - I don't quite understand your question.

my problem is that, as i am below standard, my item was difficult to be found out by buyer, and hence, no sales

last day i had 2 1-day auction listings of gift cards. completed sucessfully.
but now when im tryin to list them again. they are getting ghosted

what can be the problem.

I had the same problem. I used to sell itunes cards. Made some good money for a few months. Then ebay started to shut down my listings. Turns out, ebay policy only allows 1 giftcard listed per account at anytime. I have stopped selling these as its too slow now.

@Vxr12 and indian12345 - Vxr12 is correct, eBay does have a policy for gift cards because gift cards are often fraudulently purchased and sold on eBay.

@gonowbb - I would recommend listing some auctions in short duration to maximize your exposure (like 1 days). Unless you have below an 80% feedback, people will still bid on your item regardless.

I have a question.

Whats your background? What I mean is/was ebay ever your sole source of income and how did u start?

TIA

Hey, I wanted to let everyone know I just spent about an hour on AIM with the OP. He's extremely knowledgeable and open about eBay. I really appreciated his time and am looking forward to the launch of his website and additional information.

How do you go about selling a collectible? It seems hard to find proper pricing for this. Auction or Buy it now?
