Ask me ANYTHING about eBay!

Hey al, I have recently opened a basic shop with ebay on one account while running a normal selling account at the same time. However, they have limited my selling to 5 'branded' products every month and 10 for the shop. Its so annoying i have to wait 30 days. Is there anyway around this? I dont want to keep getting limited every time

@3Infidels: If you have a product from China, the only thing that you're going to have to worry about is the shipping speed. Customers will generally complain if the product takes too long to get here and your DSR (Detailed Seller Rating) will suffer. However, since they are shipping 1 quantity at a time, there will be no problems with customs.

@bbbb: That's a very broad question, but generally speaking branded goods sell well on eBay.

@yungmoney: The limitation is annoying in the beginning but as you grow feedback and as your account gets older, your selling limits will be eventually higher and higher. Also, if you sell items below the VERO radar, they will not count it as a branded good; I have such product if you're interested. Another way to get around this issue is by having multiple stealth accounts so that your limits are multiplied by the number of accounts you have. Hope that answers your question!

In your experience, what has been the best way to list an item to fly under the vero radar as much as possible?

Hi A1
I would like to ask you what you mean exactly when you say "If you sell items below the VERO radar, they will not count it as a Branded Good" I would be grateful if you could explain what that means, forgive me if I lack a finger on the pulse! You also mentioned to yungmoney that you have such a product, again I would be grateful if you could provide me with this information, if at all possible, as I am always looking to improve my situation. Thanks.

@souldemon - Try listing your item as "like new". Chances are, if you're listing items as new, they're going to shut you down. I have other methods too, but that one isn't going to get shut down anytime soon

@Cartman20: If you want a sourcing solution, contact me on AIM: myecommerceguru

Also, due to DuckyShucky's idea, I'm going to start a site soon to help people out on eBay - it'll give you EVERYTHING you need to know about making money - from sourcing all the way to selling. It'll be totally free with no strings attached.

That sounds like a good idea Al!
...and thanks for the advice, and yes I am interested in such a product, always looking for new, alternative outlets! Let me know, thanks

That sounds great. I really need help with the sourcing. I looked into the "drop ship from china" but it doesn't really look like that will work out.

Hi
hope you can help.
Basically I want to message as many people as possible on ebay with offers. What would you suggest is the best way of doing this?
The only way I know is to have multiple ebay accounts.

How many messages can you send a day with a normal account?

How many messages can you send a day with a new account?

Would I be flagged if I sent exactly the same message to users?

Any other information or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

If you have software that you're looking to clear out, it really depends on the brand of the software. Say that you're stuck with an inventory of microsoft goods because you can't sell it on eBay successfully - go ahead and clear the remaining of your inventory on craigslist. However, if you're talking about a business partnership, PM me and we can discuss that in private. I have a network of people that would be interested in participating in a JV.

done! please check you box

@bookmarc - I sent a message back; I can help you out personally.

@markprendy - For new accounts, the number of messages is 10 or less. If you're looking to market on eBay; you're going to need a lot of accounts. However, buyer accounts can be easily made with an automated script for free. If you need such a script, I can make one for you easily as I've done similar campaigns in the past.

I also took this information from the eBay forums that might be useful to your situation markprendy:

Please be aware that accounts that have zero or negative feedback, and no credit card on file are not permitted to use the Contact eBay Member function. However, you may contact the seller of an active listing by clicking on the 'Ask the seller a question' link found directly on the item listing below the seller's User ID.

eBay has a set of guidelines in order to determine if it's safe to proceed with a member's " Ask Seller a Question " or " Contact eBay Member " funtion and limits. Each individual member is evaluated based on the following factors :

1) the member's feedback
2) the length of time on the site
3) is there a credit card on file
4) possible of any impact on the community

Each of these factors play a crucial role in determining the number of contacts a member is permitted to make.

Hi, I need about 100 eBay verified BUYER IDs (not seller IDs) for bidding and feedback purposes. SO can you help me with this and let me know what I need and how you can help?

Regards,
Bhavin Sheth.

@InfinityAI Thanks for the reply. Just a couple more questions.
1) If I was to send the same message to potential buyers would ebay bots pick this up?
2) If I was to include an email address would I have to be discreet and put something along the lines of email(at)hotmail.com?

do you have any advice on getting your items noticed? it seems like my items never get any views.

I also need to know the best/fastest way to achieve at least 100 positive feedback on a new ebay account. What do you recommend? Does anyone sell these accounts?

Do you know anything about the concept of ebay's rolling blackouts? I hear it's a rumor but it seems like fact. Every so often I just get a flurry of sales from a certain state and it really makes me wonder if ebay is dispersing search results based on regions and different times of the day or week. If that is the case then wouldn't it be wise to open several ebay accounts in several regions with listings going all the time?

Also, what do you think about GTC versus specific days for a listing? I know this one guy that has fixed price listings that end between 6p-7p every day because from is Terapeak research it should that's the best time of day for people buying. But then it makes me wonder if that's a good idea because ebay doesn't really rank their searches by the ending time as much as best seller status anymore.

Just some things that have me curious.

What is the best way you've found over time to maximise profit?
