I don't think it actually hides the referrer does it? It just shortens the link so no one can tell it's an affiliate link.

No, bit.ly leaves the referrer intact. Try this link for instance (the referrer will probably show as blackhatword or anonym.to)

Don't forget to set your link history to private in the account settings page. It's public by default and your CPA network could just put a "+" at the end of your link and see your traffic sources.
