[FIX] How to get Traffic Travis working again

Ok this is a 1 minute fix:

• Go to your host file and put a # in front of the lines that correspond with Traffic Travis
• Start your TT, it will be downgraded to the free version (don't worry)
• Update to the latest version
• Close TT
• Remove aforementioned # from host file
• Go to your XAMPP folder > program_interface
• Open updatesv3.php
• Put as the first line: 3.3.14.2821

That's it, run it again and you'll see everything is fine again.
So remember this for future updates, simply change the version numbers in the updatesv3.php file.

Yes you downgrade to the free version and when you perform the final steps, the editing of the php file and the second editing of the hosts file, you'll get the pro version again.

I've been through the instructions again and again in OP but still can't get upgraded to pro version.
Is that $37 deal for TT4 permanent and working for anyone? Also I saw somewhere else that there is no reporting feature or country specific google results in TT4, is that still the case?

I just used this method above and it works. You need to wait till you redirect to the clickbank order page and then change the item id in the URL. I just got the full version for $37.00 Thanks!!!

I still am running v3. I cannot bring myself to purchase v4 without feeling as though I'm stealing. And I'm not bashing anyone for doing it or even being judgmental, I'm just sayin'.

By the way, on their site they claim they are not charging a monthly fee, that all you have to pay is $97. When you go to pay, the $67 future payments are there, but not there when doing the change to purchase for $37. No, I didn't purchase TTv4. I just had to see if it worked because it was really an ingenious idea.

Anyway, if you are still having problems updating v3 from 3.3.7 to 3.3.14 I went to their site to look for answers and they said that you may get error messages if you have your virus program going at the same time you are trying to upgrade. When I turned mine off (I have Avast) I was able to upgrade without any more error messages.

Unfortunately, I couldn't quite understand the directions given because I am not sure where this xampp folder is located. I tried doing a search, but still couldn't find it on my computer. So, I had to go another route. This worked for me turning off my virus software and then installing the update. HTH

We have established that this error will only appear if the dbupdater.exe file failed to run during the update process. This happens if you have a security software (anti-virus or firewall) that prevented the dbupdater.exe file from running.

To verify this, please manually run dbupdater.exe. To run this file, you have to go to the location where it is installed, which in most cases would be C:\Program Files\Traffic Travis v3\. Double click on the dbupdater.exe file to initiate the database update. After the update is done, run Traffic Travis again to check if it is working.

If manually executing the dbupdater.exe file does not fix the problem or if you get a different error message after execution, please send an email to

I used my own link and then used the $37 method at the end....got it for a discount and a $16 commission

ok...now I feel bad

It is buggy at times though. And the TOS says you can use it on two of your own computers, but I haven't figured out how to share the database files yet (each are saved in the roaming folder on each computer and there is no option to point them to a shared folder, like Dropbox)
