What Do You Girls Do For Fun

Lana and I have been putting together some plans after the 3rd child arrives, so hopefully that will liven us up a bit. Right now with the oldest boy in preschool and the pregnancy I am kind of pretty much dialed in until spring next year.

Plans are nice. Shannon and I always plan at least one getaway per year without the kids. Always nice to have your kids close together....ours are 14, 9 and 3, but not planned that way!

Hard to believe those are some freshwater fish...looks like something you'd catch deep sea fishing!

Oh man,

Those fish are babies. I never photographed any fish until this past year. Some RJ members wanted some pictures so the lady started taking them. We just caught them and let the Flatheads go really. The big one I believe was around 48-52 lbs. The biggest one I caught was about 10 yrs ago and weighed a nice 76 lbs. The world rod and reel record for Flatheads is 123 lbs.

It was a nasty looking beast. But a 40-50 lber will give you a heck of
a fight when you hop out of the boat and start wrestlin him with your hands.

Mountain Home Arkansas, thats where its at! The fishing that is, and by fishing i mean fly fishing for trout :) Just get out of the water as soon as the alarm goes off, or you will be another statistic (lotsa people get washed away as generators turn on and they're like "oh wait, let me finish reeling him in"

generators? what the heck is that all about? we don't have anything like that up here in our rivers(that ive ever seen, anyway). what is it, like a big fan that sucks boats in or something?

Trout?

I never caught one in my life. I'll do anything once though.
I prefer Flatheads, and yea Kansas garners the world
rod and reel record for Flatheads, even though the guys
story is bullshit.

Here's a few from this spring. I stopped fishing in June as I got
really busy, and I am now killing myself for it as it's cooling off.

Good Times. I broke my right index finger on that big one

you guys got some strange looking fish down there, looks like a giant tadpole or something? what is it? is that pics of a flathead?

Lots to do here in New York City. I live in Manhattan and own my own building. I also have another home in the country that I use on spring/summer/fall weekends, mostly.

I grew up in Nebraska where my family also had a nice little country place with a bunch of horses, so I miss riding aimlessly in the sandhills (I don't have horses here in NY).

As diversion, I have dinner parties or cocktail parties on my roof deck, meet up with friends for dinner, go to the theatre, cinema and art show openings (I collect certain types of art).

More often than not, though, I work:)

Fishing looks dangerous; those things are HUGE! :::shudder:::

Camping? No I don't do that either! I'm a real city girl now.

I'm thinking of selling the real estate here and moving back to either Nebraska or Colorado to care for some health-challenged family members. Still considering the alternatives. Will be a big decision.

Ahh,

NYC, sounds pretty...crazy LOL.

Your own building? That sounds killer. I just recently purchased
a building in the following town so I could hire some licensed apparaisers
and they would have an office to work out of. I imagine it's nothing like that though and I bet it's expensive to live there.

Nebraska though? Such a small world. See, this is one of the reasons I started this thread in the first place. We all seem so far away and this being a blackhat forum some are not inclined to talk but you get this weird sense of how close at one point we all were.

Nebraska 3 hours away. TheProvider living in Arkansas and I got a ton of family there and visit often and have actually spent a lot time there.

Interesting stuff.

I have several, one of them is your mom's. Go away little kid.

Wow, Diabolik! Your posts are SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! Thank you so much!

I really hope you continue to post your bitter vitriol. You're so incredible; so informative; so helpful.

Best,
Sine

Edit: This post is entirely sarcasm ... in case you missed it:)

I grew up in North Platte, a small town where everyone knew my family and everyone knew me, as a result.

I might have mentioned here that I was struck by lightning once when I was 8 years old. Dumbass that I am, I also once stepped on a rattler at age 9, out at the ranch. Just another clumsly, stupid kid running around the sandhills. Rattle snakes don't appreciate being stepped upon, and I can't say I blame them.

Weird that I miss Nebraska, but I do.

Sine

Yea,

I remember you saying that you got struck by lightning
and had almost forgot it, thanks for bringing that back up.

Great that your ok, but jesus-->Struck by lightning.

I grew up in west virginia and used to go cat fishing in the rivers everychance a got. But man I never caught anything as big as those cats you were holding. Awesome, I miss those days.

justmeron,

Don't you dare try to slip that one by me. I already know
about the bluecats you have that way:D

BTW -- I am meeting some online acquaintances (SP) right
after the first of the year in Virginia. Yea, I know it ain't WV
but it might as well be for a hermit like me.:)

Gonna come over and catch me some of those bluecats
and maybe (probably not) talk about some marketing.

Time to admit l am the same age as ruck but feel years older lol, working at this Im game can be tough and again like ruck l guess you can become a hermit, l know l did and the weight just plied on, its hard to exercise at the desk as l keep getting my legs trapped behind my ears.
Truthfully, we now live in Spain every winter so as we purchased a big spread with lots of old buildings, when not on the computer or in the pool my wife and me are doing up the old barns and turning them into places we can let out hopefully next year.

Every so often though we go into Benidorm and go on the karaoke as l love to sing and boogie the night away. its a good lifestyle though but l am always reminded that every day until l make some money l am unemployed . nicho

I like to read, been in online business since 2004 but only took it seriously this year when I knew I should start saving instead of blowing everything or only working just enough to pay the bills. I am 24 but I wish I knew at 14 what I know now.

I believe you asked a girl and you got a bunch of guys answering,,lol So let me jump in here. I usually play my guitar and sing. Lately though it have been BH and you know what? I have lost a bunch of friends cuz we usually have this house party here at my place but now it is a BLACK HAT CAVE!!!

Ruck I can't believe you like to catch those ugly ass flatheads! :D

I'm from Topeka originally. Not a fisherman but my brother who still lives there used to guide and that mother CAN CATCH FISH.

He used to guide some well off biz men years ago till he became a bouncer in a strip bar and started playing with too many strippers and messed his head up.

Damn Topeka girls can be too much fun you know?

If you ever want to catch some real fish hit me up. He just picked up another boat and you'll get some pretty and good eatin bass.

Far as IM goes I'm an old timer in many ways.

Had many jobs over the years and hated them all and discovered the internet

I've made some good money the last few years but I get so distracted hard to keep on task sometimes because lately not even money motivates me

think I may be AADD and undiagnosed as a kid. My brothers also ADD but he's got a heart as big as they come.

Used to be a drummer but gave em to my kids when I relocated from N. Cali.

Most of my fun now is online and probably need to party some more. Feel I'm too predictable and boring these days.

In some ways I wish i'd not discovered this forum because it's frickin easier now to get even less done than before. LOL
