I'm using this thread to track exactly what I do with a new project in the hope of making some bank and getting others to learn from my mistakes.
BACKGROUND:
I know a bit about SEO but have never actually put much work into it. As far as I'm concerned that makes me a n00b. If you haven't tried it, you're not authorized to talk about it!
Make a bit of money with Clickbank (affiliate and vendor) but nothing serious.
Tried PPC (with a journal on BHW) but failed - not enough money and promoted my own stuff which was too restrictive for a beginner.
GOALS:
1. Get a site ranked page 1 and getting decent traffic
2. Get a site making consistent money. $100/day average is a great milestone.
HOW I WILL SUCCEED:
To start with I'm monetizing with clickbank, because that's what I know well. I don't really care about this right now, the aim is to get good and pulling TRAFFIC. Once you have that you can make money with anything.
To start with I'll be using:
- Scrapebox
- Article Marketing Robot
Never used either Before. The first site I'll be working on is a 2 year old exact match domain that I bought for cheap at godaddy auctions. I did no keyword research initially but since I have it, it looks alright.
Search volumes:
18000 broad global
12000 broad US
880 exact
480 exact US
Top 2 positions are tough, but front page is doable and I have the only exact mach domain out of the front page. I have no idea if this is a good keyword. I know keyword research is the most important part, and it's also what I suck at the most. Fuck it, press on! One way to find out.
FIRST STEPS:
- Ordered about 10 articles from warrior forum (various prices and vendors, ill keep mixing it up until I find a good provider)
- Build an auto approve scrapebox list. I could buy one but where's the fun in that? This'll be a good way to get my hands dirty with scrapebox and learn the ropes.
- Setup a site on blogger (I've never used blogger before, but it might get extra love from google?? Dont know, this part is a test too, I can always switch it to something else later)
