Just as I suspected..Google HATES affiliates-Got Proof!

What kind of affiliate website does g hates? Is it those one page product review websites?how about websites that actually have useful info and of value to user with a few links and banners pointing out to the actual product? I can't see how g can totally eliminate affiliates. Moving to another search engine will be difficult. Users are accustomed to g already

G believes there is no need for affiliates anymore. They would prefer affiliates write original content and put adsense ads everywhere-this way publishers get to advertise their products and we get pennies per click for all of our hard work. It makes no sense to me because at the end of the day adsense is very similar to aff marketing. It just pays peanuts.

so....

let me see if i understand this correctly.....

All the while Google themselves own

and are making tons of money from affiliates and publishers

And this is your "buddy's" explanation?
When affiliates start making a killing-the publisher wonders why not just copy the affiliates methods-and simply cut him/her out of the equation.

G wants the searching user to find the info or product in as few clicks as possible. This maximizes the user experience-creating a win win for G, surfer, and publisher. They believe the affiliate aka middleman, simply confuses the user and extends the search longer than it needs to be. At the beginning, affiliates served a very good purpose-growing the size of the web by adding content and networking connections. These days however, most of the topics have been covered and there is simply too much information that ultimately leads to the same publisher(s).

cute post dr. evil-and yes you are "understanding" it correctly. My "buddy" is rather geeky so I therefore translated G's philosophy into normal talk, but that is besides the point. Believe me or not chief-Google is cutting down on the amount of affiliate marketing in the U.S. arena.

I make no money by telling you that G is bothered by the large amounts of duplicate content, redirecting, ppc arbitrage, thin affiliates, etc. blah blah. Im not the only person who knows that G is getting crazy with the banhammer. The truth hurts you I guess-no big deal man, just go further outside the box.

Your evil empire is still intact-its not like they killed mini me.

your only 'proof' for all of this is your opinion and the word of a 'nameless' 'buddy' that has worked at google for less than a year.....

in fact you really have no proof for any of what you're saying....just because Google has removed a site from it's search engine doesn't meant they're cutting down on affiliate marketing....or that they hate affiliate marketers. It just means that the sites they removed no longer meet the standards they used in their algorithms....in other words, Google may not just hate affiliate marketers, they might just hate 'you', the affiliate marketer with the a sh*tty website.

I agree with everything @tonlilaz says in this thread. Not necessarily because that is the correct version, but because she is looking beautiful in the profile pic. (I hope its her:p)

Guys this is not the end of the world. Ever since i started marketing (SEO) my heart was always in making money from setting up "lead generation" websites to generate business for myself (in my niche) and also setting up sites in other niches to JV with companies for profit share. The model in principle is similar to the affiliate marketing that many use here (promotion and selling) except that affiliate marketing is more "automated" income compared to what i do. I often get involved in the real business from the leads that are generated from the marketing efforts to make money.

If the big G decided to kill the whole affiliate game then i wouldn't sweat. See there is always a silver lining in the cloud. With the amount of marketing talent that exists on this forum, i am pretty sure that if the affiliate rug was pulled from under the feet of marketers, they could quite easily adapt to setting up and marketing a website for "real businesses" and generate massive income from JVs. The silver lining in this is that, in my opinion, the profits in "real" business development through IM are much greater than traditional affiliate marketing. I know this because this is the road i have taken. I never believed in getting paid shitty 5% from amaz0n product sale when the end seller was making much more. It never made business sense to me to do all the hard work to get buyers but then only to be paid crappy amounts for the sale. I personally take it as an offence and kind of feel bitter at the greed of some of these companies! My thinking has always been why not be the end seller/ the end business and make much much more?

I have spent shit loads of time mastering seo and have now ended up with some sites that generate leads from seo for "real" business which pays massively. I could never imagine ANY affiliate program paying me $5,000 to $10,000+ for converting one of these leads (as i sometimes do) into real business. I just wish that i had the ppc skills of some guys on here to multiply this so many times over. If i had the ppc skills of some of you guys, these kind of payouts will come all day long.

So don't be too discouraged by what the OP has posted. Although it goes against the grain of how many of you affiliate marketers are making money today, its pretty straight forward to adapt IM to something similar (like i do). I am lucky to be in the UK to enjoy good returns, and i am on a quest to multiplying this income to massive proportions probably through finding a good ppc/ social media... IM partner(s) on here (shoot me a pm if it interests you). I honestly believe that's where the BIG money is.

cheers

If you ask my opinion, we should start creating our own products in low competition niches-rather than auto-blogging, or funneling traffic to publishers. Who says WE can't be publishers??

What about preselling? Because the main purpose of aff. content is preselling products.
Without affiliates conversions will decrease.

google is not the only venue if they crack down on us we still have social networks to spam to death not to even mention email marketing will be back fully in the game and going really hard like there is no tomorrow trust me in another words google is not the only places you can find massive amount of customers the number 1 venue is still email marketing and oh yea i cant even forget youtube

Yeah, Big G has its own affiliate network. Maybe they are just doing a little housecleaning of those that are not a part of the Big G Network. Who knows... they do have stockholders to answer too...

Not sure about this...g makes big $$$ from affiates and adsence

If this is true then obviously without using content spinning, rehashing, and scraping, need to go on manual realistic process. I just recommend to start soon for security propose after few days if it is proved as false then continue in ur manner.

By any chance is your Buddy a Janitor or a Security guard at Google.

j/k :D
