Please can someone help:

I would like to use Scrapebox for 1. Competitive research and reconnaissance 2. Keyword research 3. Ideas for blog posts [on my own blog].

My question is, can scrapebox be used for the above jobs without having to use private or shared proxies.

PS: I do not plan to use this for any form of commenting.

Thanks in advance

Hi Proxygo, thanks for your comprehensive and informative reply!

It's good to know that I still have to use the S in front of the socks, if imported from another app like Charon. But your reply also explained the WHY of it and that's something i'm always interested in;) Oh and by the way, wasn't going to use the sources included in SB. ;) Once I have purchased SB, I will use my own sources and when I am comfortable enough with SB to start really using it, I will check out your service of public proxies.

1. What is still not understand if - and esp. WHY - it is best to use the proxy-tester built in scrapebox or via an external program like Charon. I have read many contradicting posts here in this thread and elsewhere on the net. One says the SB one is good enough, another saying, no use Charon.

Maybe you also have answers to the other related proxy questions I have?
2. In what other situation or for what other addons is running only the IP test without the Google Check usefull in SB, other than posting?

3. For what purposes and modules in SB can we use SOCKS or does SB decide automatically? (sorry, in my earlier post I said proxies, but I meant SOCKS, proxies are obvious or course)

ok point 1 WHY - it is best to use the proxy-tester built in scrapebox
a tool like charon only tests for proxy status aka alive dead
country ping.
s/box tester tests for google ip ban check - that was easy

2 - as i only test proxies for url scraping purposes for my buyers
i dont no .. question 3 i dont no either..
im only good with proxie questions not scrapebox in general

I'm wondering if scrapebox can do this:

I've got an excel file with a column of keywords and I'd like to get the corresponding #1 search result from google and put it into the 2nd column of the excel file. Is there an easy way to do this with scrapebox?

Thanks proxygo, clear on point 1 there then! :D I assume the SB checker also checks for codeen etc?

Only point 2 and 3 remaining. Anyone?

Also point 4 of an older post remaining:
What is the Unlock button in the manage proxies for? It isn't mentioned anywhere in this thread (at least not the last 80 pages or so an was only mentioned very quickly in one of Matt's vid's as I recall?

I wasnt sure where to put this, and with 207 pages of posts it was hard to see if anyone has mentioned it before, but the question I have is: Is it possible to add a "remove 404 error" to the blog analyzer? Because you know those dont work, but the timeout ones can work if you change the settings.

sweet is in australia
activation might take a few hrs
due to time zone difference

I just ordered Scrapebox and I tried downloading and installing it to my desktop, but I am having issues.

Inside Winzip I see a bunch of folders and two exe files. I double clicked on the Scrapebox.exe file and a small window popped up asking me if I wanted to run this file and I clicked yes, but all it does is open up the Scrapebox software without actually installing it on my desktop.

I also noticed on the bottom right of the software it says "no valid license found"

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

Scrapebox is a standalone application and there is no "installation" needed.
Simple extract all files and folders from the archive and run 'scrapebox.exe' ;)

How can I scrape and post comments to chatbox/shoutbox on lifejournal blogs that contain a keyword? What should I use for the footprint?

Seems like SB isn't working. Unable to post using fast or slow poster..

hello. I was wondering if scrapebox can run with my 300kbps internet connection. i am ready to buy the product but don't know if i can run it here in my pc with such connection. thanks

Why is it when I search for a footprint in Google and it returns 10k results, harvesting it using SB in Google returns only 1000? How can I harvest all 10k?

I have a quick question how do I add multiple domains and KW to blast using SB is this way:

http://KW1.com {KW1|KW2|KW3}
http://KW2.com {KW1|KW2|KW3}

Do I add the text file to the name list?

thanks

You can't scrape more than 1000 results per SE for the same KW.

The limit is 1k per KW per SE. Use more similar keywords to harvest more URL's.

It can even run on a dial-up but the speed will be considerably slow as you'll have to keep the threads low.
