Okay folks, here's the nitty gritty. Link Wheels, Link pushing, obviously they work right? That's why it's promoted so hard.

I'm going to drop a big "what if" on you. More so than ever, the big G is being a pain. I have noticed that web 2.0 properties are not getting indexed at all. I mean 90% of your properties will go unnoticed. The typical advice is bookmark, turn your links into a RSS feed and submit it to a RSS aggregator and along with it all, ping it, everytime and all the time. Even with all that you probably have noticed that your web 2.0 properties and such are not getting indexed.

With that being it, what do you do? People say just pay attention to your serp and not the tools, if that was really it, then why would people bother making tools, or buying tools?

If you're feeling the same pain let me hear your story, and maybe some of the senior members will step in and give us some real advice and not your typical strategy that you've already tried that clearly isn't working.

Indexing isn't always important but getting crawled by the search engines is.

If done properly, the indexing of a Web 2.0 or article directory is not going to make or break a money site as the search engines are not going to disallow the link on a non indexed site.

That being said, of course an indexed site will give you more backlink weight but that doesn't discount a non indexed site if it has been and is being crawled by G.

Forget what I offer as a service in this thread... let's just talk theory... those of you that I have shared some of my sites with know that what I am saying is accurate. One guy, not too long ago, asked me how I got site XYZ.net ranked #5 page 1 on G with no indexed backlinks.

You have to realize that every man and his dog is using those techniques these days. Sometimes you can be having beneficial effects under the hood but it's not enough to give you substantial movement in the keywords you care about.

These days you also have to have a two- or three- tiered strategy so you get backlinks to your link wheels. A bunch of links from web2.0 properties with no backlinks won't have much of an effect when your competitor has thousands of real hard links pointing to his site.

You just have to go out there and get every damn link you can, and not stop until you get results. To paraphrase Jim Rohn, "No wonder he's rich... Look at everything he does!"

Actually I don't even think most people go that far. By nature people are lazy. I'll bet you the majority people do a few things and then give up. The next group will buy cheap xrumer and SB blasts. The group after that will learn and create their own linkwheels, pyramids, pushes. And the last group actually makes money and pays someone else like Bass to do it for them.

My guess is the last group is fairly small otherwise I probably would have a much harder time ranking for super competitive keywords.

they just don't index crap and dup content as much.. write original content and it gets indexed with very little afford. I posted 100 articles for a friends and 50 were indexed after few days, didn't do shit to them.

Actually it depends on the content. I have a celebrity blog that is all dup content from RSS feeds (nothing original) and I have 20K+ pages indexed and I never created a backlink to it. I didn't even mix content with wprobot.

In fact other people have created over 150 backlinks to it lol. So much for the dup content theory.

Edit: Just to add I have other high ranking sites that I do backlink that have all duplicate content and they get thousands of visitors a day to them. You just need to know what you're doing is all.

Outstanding post.

Beers on my partner, Kevin.

Okay - so from what I gathered you guys are saying keep building these link pyramids and we're golden? I don't see how that's possible when I'm pumping out 3 tiered system once a day every day for the last 10 days and dropped 10 rank on google today. All my links are for sure crawled.

Money site <-- tier 1 <--tier 2 <-- tier 3 // and i'm hitting it with all the senuke web2.0 proprerties along with all the bookmarks and RSS feeds, every single day and i'm on page 11 and dropped to page 12 today..? on a not so competitive keyword... out of the last 13 days 1 link is "officially" indexed...
does that sound like flaw to you guys? or am i just doing somthing terribly wrong?

10 days.

I know you are a smart guy from our conversations... let the process work for you... ten days is like a millisecond.

Go have a beer, put it on Kevin's tab and let your work make you money.

Feel free to submit the RSS feeds of your sites as well as ping those puppies.

Patients my friend. you are just dancing. Now while you wait with that cold beer in hand blast your entire tier 3. 13 days is not enough time to pass. I am still waiting on 2nd and 3rd tiers to index from November 2nd. things will work out for ya.

Hmmm. I wonder if your dup. content sites are still doing ok? I lost my best wprobot site in one of the recent Google purges - and until that happened I would have agreed with you 100%.

Up till maybe mid Feb it was well indexed with loads of links from trackbacks etc and was bringing in a good income. The guy I bought it from had loads of wprobot sites and he also took a real hammering - based on his research, it was primarily wprobot sites with google analytics that had been eliminated. Needless to say, he immediately removed analytics on his remaining sites.

Any thoughts on that?

I've never put Analytics on any wp-robot sites, mainly because I didn't want G having an inside view to my actions. I also modified my robots.txt to keep things out of view. I did take a hit on one of my better earning wp-robot sites, but others have stepped up a bit since then. I'm still not back to where I was before the last update, but I haven't seen the overall catastrophe that some folks have because of dup content.

I also made sure that my TBS settings were all active on my wp-robot sites. Some weren't on some of my campaigns before the update.

This is a very good thread and I thank the OP for posting this. It all comes down to whether G is going to actually value links in the future as their main way of ranking sites. All we can do is do what we know works best now, and that is quality and quantity linking with at least some tier structure linking to your site. I think G is actually doing a good job with its search results - whenever I want to find something I usually get it on G, so it proves that links and natural structures are best. It also proves that relevant, unique content + lots of links from diverse sources + a few high quality links = the win.

Thanks mcg. By tbs settings - do you mean spinner?

lost

Yes, TBS = The Best Spinner

You can set it up to automatically spin articles that WP-Robot pulls in. Be sure to activate it both on the Options page and on each campaign that you are running. I had missed it on a couple of autoblogs and I wonder if I had been running it, if some of those domains wouldn't have taken the hit in traffic that I've seen.

I've been trying to drop more original content in lately, but it's tough without outsourcing.

i would suggest you to do SB and xrumer blasts on your web 2.0 campaigns (also article links). You may also want to join article syndication sites for your dummy sites (make several dummy sites and interlink them with your money site). Do all these works for at least 6 months and you can start complaining if they don't work :)
