SEO Journal/Case Study

Thanks. Yeah sure i'll release it. I just gotta make sure that theres no bugs.

Thanks

Yeah... It seems to be stuck at 15... But, I kind of expected this since i was promoting the wrong DOMAIN URL. If i were doing it right from the get go.. im pretty sure I would have already been on the first page. The one thing Im noticing now is that ranking is moving alot again. Before it was stuck at 15 and stayed there everytime i checked the rankings. But now it keeps jumping between 15 - 20. Usually when it jumps like that, it moves up the SERPS so... im thinking it'll start moving a bit.

My seo plan is different from yours. I usually dont build much links for tier 2 and tier 1. I mainly concentrate on money site. If you ask about my results, I am moving pretty fast up to second page. Then its taking really long time to move from there.

I hope you go up faster. then I can follow your plan. :)

Thank you so much for this thread. This is truly a learning experience for me with lots of great information.

I hope you it make it to the top 10 soon.

Great information. I plan to come back and use some of the planning on my own sites.

One tip I have is ramping up the submissions with AMR, from 20 per day to at least 50. Many of them won't work, so it's really only a couple of links a day, and you don't want to spend two months sending out the same article.

Or maybe you plan to submit several articles and their submissions will all overlap and be more effective.

Anyway, that was my thought process recently when I started using AMR.

Good luck though, and thanks for all the time you've put into this thread!

Can i know how are you doing Keyword research ??

Sure.. lol The first thing you need to do is find a niche that you want to promote. Hop onto google keywords tool and search in the niche or the keyword you want. I always sort the listings to find EXACT matches. I don't pay attention to the broad or phase matches. I will aim for keywords that are at least 5K uniques globally. Just keep searching for your ONE keyword that meets this 5K mark (this is really dependent on the niche though.. if you're willing to go for lower, then go for it). What I usually do is look at hte keywords around your MAIN keyword... you'll notice that they'll have alot of searches for them as well. As you build your domain, you can surround it with several hundred of these super long keywords and they''ll all eventually add up a very niche search amount per month. But thats a different story. Hop onto google and just start searching for what you want. keep typing different types of phrases and watch the GOOGLE SUGGEST. You can further throw this into your google keywords tool.

After you find your list of keywords, hop onto google and search for these in quotes...."KEYWORD". Usually, I aim for less than 100,000 competing pages...but if you have time, you can really go much higher than this. The next check I like to do is the allintitle:KEYWORD. I try my best to make sure that this is less than 20,000. But, this affects only the title of your domain, so the less there is the better. I like to check this cause i personally see title as a huge factor.

Hop onto namecheap or any other domain site. I perfer namecheap cause they offer free whois protection and you can find a coupon every month for a dollar off or something like that... but yeah search up the domain name and look for an EXACT DOMAIN MATCH. If you can't get one, try to use variations to get the exact domain match in there, but try not to seperate the keywords.

Thats about it.. I use micro niche finder to do all of this, but I do sometimes do this manually.

My seo plan is different from yours. I usually dont build much links for tier 2 and tier 1. I mainly concentrate on money site. If you ask about my results, I am moving pretty fast up to second page. Then its taking really long time to move from there.

I hope you go up faster. then I can follow your plan. :)

The reason why I don't concentrate strictly on my moneysite... is cause i've had one of my domains sandboxed before. But i guess thats my own fault cause I didnt know better and I blasted it wiht everything I had... lesson learned... lol Besides, the people i've talked to keep telling me to build tiers.. or supporting backlinks to transfer the flow of link juice.

I seem to be stuck here on the second page too..

wow,that's a great thread,i will keep Follow

Thanks

Yeah, you know what, i'm probably going to take your advice. I was thinking about this the other day and it does only equate to a couple links everyday. I'm probably going to register for all the sites.. i think theres 4K there right now and then i'll create 5 different spun articles and then schedule 10 each a day so that they overlap one another.

Magic submitter (MS)
I took a look at MS the yesterday and wow... I must say its really a sweet tool. success rate is so high. The ability to change up the coding and create your own sites is pretty amazing. You don't ever have to wait for the developer to fix the loophole. You can fix it within 5 min yourself. The flexibility in changing projects and what not is crazy. I think that tool is going to be one of my favorite tools. Anywho... just thought i'd mention it as its pretty powerful. I think next month im going to switch out my SA membership for a MS membership. Diagraming is not there, but I'm sure I can organize it somehow to make the same effects. Plus this way I have more flexibility in how many sites I want to push out.

Current Ranking
  • Main Keyword: 15
  • YSE: 14

Week
  • LD - Loving this tool... man it seriously is saving me so much time considering how much I use it. Does anyone have any feedback on it? I found an error in the program. The stats for the forums, don't work. And i realized the other day I can't export my backlinker links....sooo I guess i'll leave those links for now and maybe ill create something that will filter out all the junk (the url list shows the time as well as the platform..the url is sitting in the middle of those two)... so the only way to get the domain is to filter them out... which takes too much time. It would be interesting to see how many of the BL links are acutally getting indexed though. . I need to add video into the list as well as bookmarks.
  • AMR - Will update this...create 5 articles... blast 10 per article everyday..every 24 hours. Currently creating registrations at each one.
  • SA - diagrams not quite done yet, but should be done shortly... After that I'll put them through indexing
  • MS - Created an account creator for BE. I created one in SS, but I wanted to test this one out.. I really like this tool alot and will probably do a video blast on my main site pretty soon to test it out. I am thinking of doing a social bookmarking blast on it too.
  • RSS - 20 Submissions
  • SB - Starting to grab all the Autoapprove lists I have and setting it up for blasting out to the tier 2s... I need the SAs done so I can organize them all in one go. I checked the tier 1 sites for indexing and ALREADY 6/9 have been indexed. Of the tier 2 sites: 27/163. I put the Tier 1 sites through BE (the first account I ever made)... and Im not sure if thats the reason why the index rate is so much higher.. or i just got super lucky.. who knows.. i'll be putting the tier 2 sites through BE very shortly... as well as putting htem through an RSS and submitting them..and pinging them.
  • BL - Still bulding on old ones. I set a mini blast to the money site (20) - I did this randomly.
  • SS - Grabbed all my profile links and put them into LD. I checked the indexing of these profiles and only 2 of the profiles have been indexed. I'm going to put this through linklicous and as soon as I can get my BE setup... i'll put it through that.

Made lots of changes. Found tons of errors and had to change them all. Just rearranged some stuff to make it a little bit better.

Thanks

Since you bough magis submitter what I would do is (I actually am doing this with great success) buy a deathbycapcha account, put it in there. Create all the web 2.0 available in the list, put unique content in them. Social bookmark them then RSS feed submit therm then ping all the created links.
This is your first tier. For the second tier you could submit ultra spinned articles using AMR and link them to the web 2.0`s (this will make them more powerfull and appear in YSE). Ping this links, if you want you can backlink them.
Create expression engine profiles to the first tier web 2.0, order thousands of forum profiles from fiverr for the hundreds of submitted articles (tier 2)
The thousands articles would be your tier 3.
To index tier 3 get a paid membership at linklicious and index them by pinging.
Since you have SS submit your site to the directories available there.
create a Press release for your site, submit it using MS and link it to the main site.
Take all of your tier 1 created sites and put them into linklicious for indexing (I find this service very usefull for indexing!)
Great thread again, will try to post usefull stuff here

Lol.. I didn't even read your post until i wrote everything below. The funny part is that I did pretty close to what you did, but just in a tad different.

Current Ranking
  • Main Keyword: 16
  • YSE: 14

Indexing
  • T1 - 17/30
  • T2 - 96/687

Today
  • AMR - Signed up to all of the directories.. ended up getting around 2400 websites to submit to (Email Verified). After organizing all my Tiers, I grabbed all the Tier 2s... created a new article and created tons of anchor texts and spun all my tier 2 web 2.0s in there. I am now blasting all 2400 sites across those Tier 2 websites... which I currently have 688
  • Linklicious - Grabbed all tier 2 websites and ran them through this service.. this should be submitted over the next week or so.. There are 50 or so scheduled rss submissions
  • MS - Playing around with it, created 6 new profiles/accounts and created a set of blogs and a set of video sites. I have yet to blast anything using it, but I will most likely schedule another set of blogs that will run on my dedicated overnight. (i'll try to schedule somethign else to test out that feature)
  • SS - Grabbed all my T2 sites and ran them through their pinger. I'll create a campaign and blast to T2 with a set of profile links.
  • BL- Tomr i'll have to create a new campaign for this new set of T2s and start back linking on this.
  • SA - Still has 3 campaigns running that will complete over the span of this month.
  • SB - With so many links pointing to those web 2.0 sites, i'm going to wait until all those articles sites are done. Then i'll combine the T2 with the article directories and i'll blast those with autoapprove links.
  • BE - Need to setup the rest of my accounts.. this is taking me too long.. I think i'll need to start by creating 5 now and do it as I go.

Wow...

Google really likes to mess with me.. thats for sure... Take a look at the image below:

27952342.jpg

  • Am I seeing things... or is now my domain ranked for "www." and not just DOMAIN.org... okay so google as switched up which domain name they want to rank for... I guess this is a good thing since the majority of my backlinking has been done on the original? But, I have ALL my backlinks right now catered to the "DOMAIN.org".... which I just did several large blasts too and developed quite a big extensive tier structure. I was just in the process of getting them all indexed...and Google decides they want to switch me over... NOT FUN. I checked this manually on both a CANADIAN IP and a US IP and they both are appearing with "www.DOMAIN.org"
  • So I am sitting in number 18... I really don't know what to say right now.. I can't explain why they show that its only 44 backlinks are pointing to the domain. When i search this up in YSE.. it shows 90 when i search for "DOMAIN.org"... but when I search for "www.DOMAIN.org" it shows me 20~. I made sure that I am only looking at links that are NOT from the original domain and its still showing me the same thing. Rank 5/10/11 are all the same domain. The one ranked number 5 is its main domain. Hmm by the looks of it, quantity wise I should be up there. I'll do an analysis of how many high qualify links I have pointing to my domain. (By this I mean PR etc etc.). Im going to start pumping out more and more links to the main domain instead of the tiers. I'll be bringing in a mix of EDU... forum.... and a typcial web 2.0 blast (Through MS and not thorugh SA). After looking into SA, most of thier websites are on a private network, and im limited to 30 websites across all the links. I didnt check the websites, but most of the domains are owned by the owner. I didn't check, but my guess is that they are probably in the same ip address.
  • FEEDBACK? I'd really like to hear about this one...

This is fun, Siek. Great thread, and thanks a ton for Link Dashboard. I was using Notepad++ but LD is way more convenient.

Now following this thread too! =)

Thanks

Glad you like it.. I love it too.. Way more convenient than note +++.

In this version, i added a feature under maintenance to remove duplicates from folder. To use it click on the "remove dup" button and then select the campaign (folder). From there it should tell you it's been removed and you shouldn't receive any other errors. As soon as you do that, you have to RELOAD your campaign to populate everything again. The error handling isn't perfect, but I never expected to sell this so it should do :)

Take all your scrapebox lists and do a blast using a domain you dont need or a random one with random anchor. Use private proxies if you can, 30 threads and 90 timeout in the fast posted.
Take the succesfull links and do a outbound link check. Everything above 150 or 100 should go away.
Then do a do--folow check and elimanate only the nofollow, use the error, unknown platform and do--follow ones.
This will give you a short list that`s safe to blast to the main site.
This is what I do when it comes to SB
create some forum profiles with SS and MS and spread them on all your site.
This tactic worked for me and I am shure it will do wonders to yours.
Try submiting the RSS feeds for your first tier. Focus on indexing any links from tier 1 that are not indexed.
Hope this helps!

Thanks - but i'm going to have to disagree with the autoapprove list on the money site. I've learned my lesson with auto approve SB comments and I don't want to go downt hat route again. lol Even if its a small list, i'd rather not lol

Current Ranking

Back to the Drawing Table
  • Yeap.. here I am again... all these link building efforts and as it was cruising to the top very quickly when i started - it has no stopped on the second page and is have a really tough time moving forward.. so I had to take a look at the type of links i've been building and what i've been doing in comparison to my competitors...
  • To start, I cleaned up all the tools and got rid of a couple subscriptions that I don't need. I got rid of sick submitter subscription even though it was only $13/month - I found out that MS can do everything SS can do but thier platform and designer is way better...which allows me to fix errors as the come. Before I cancelled it, I grabbed all the URLS or packets they had and saved them on my drive. I then created templates on MS for these.. so now I can do all the profile posting as I please. I don't need their article submitter since AMR does the trick...
  • The next subscription I got rid of was SA... Although I really enjoyed this tool, after my analysis of my backlinks, I realized that 25 of the 30~ websites that were being spread around were from his PRIVATE network. Upon checking the network, they were all coming from the same subnet IP address - which is definitely not a good thing. Therefore, I gotta step away from SA and start using MS to build my network.
  • Another change is that I stopped using travic travis and switched over to Rank tracker (Screenshot above)
  • After analyzing all my backlinks in comparison to my competitors, I noticed that I don't have very many high PR links. Many of them are no follow (guestbook - backlinker) and the others are from SA which are great, but again they all are linked up in the same network. So i'm going to start using the mainstream article directories like i said I was going to a long time ago but never got to it... (even though it should be a huge part of my backlinking).
  • I have to be more aggressive on my money site - not 1000s of links, but alot more then what i've put through in SA. I'll be creating a brand new AMR account...creating all the accounts for those directories and submitting them ALL (1 blast) to the money site. I anticipate 200 - 300 submissions, but since they'd have to get approved and then indexed/crawled i'd have to wait anyways.
  • I created a Backlink Energizer create account thing for MS and I created 5 sets to use in my BE.. which I just setup. I gotta scrape a bunch of RSS feeds for it so I can use it for content.
  • With the article directories, I'll be also creating my first tier (again... i know) of the mainstream web 2.0 properties. and from there i'll promote it through profile links (MS) and backlinker and maybe throw another blast of AMR on top of that.
  • Gonna research some forums for my niche... i've created a template for vbulletin and a few other forums so i'm going to find those high PR ones and create accounts using those templates in MS. I'm going to leave it there for a couple days and then i'll go in and do so manual posting using my signature.
  • One thing i'm going to change up is my articles... I'm going to make all my T1's readable (unspun except for titles/resource box) and unique. Who knows.. maybe google doesn't like my content because its all very highly spun garbage.
  • Really gotta make the use of bookmarks, video submissions, press releases and all those other good stuff - :) Which should be alot easier with MS. Plan to create a bunch of accounts strictly for bookmarking and have a schedule to submit them everyday for days on end hitting all my links. I'll just leave it on my dedi so that it can run.

Summary of Things to Avoid - Learn from my mistakes...
  • I made some notes about things i've found out that you really gotta pay attention to:
  • IP Classes from your websites - Make sure they are not from the same subnets or IP's or same websites like I was doing using only SA
  • Do a thorough review of your competition's backlinks. Don't just look at the number of backlinks, but pay attention to what type of links they have as well as how many high PR websites they have pointing to their money site. The best way to start is to do link for link.
  • When you're creating your links, make sure you put alot of effort into getting them indexed. I put alot of effort into trying to get them indexed through RSS submissions, pinging, but I never really utilized BE to its full potential and I realize how important that can be.
  • Watch out for your DOMAIN and pay attention to how its ranked, whether that is with "www." or without it. Remember to keep an eye out for it to just in case it changes like it did in my situation
  • Make sure you organize your campaign very well. You'll have tons of links and it can get very overwhelming. Use my link dashboard or download note+++ to organize everything. I slowed down tremendously when I wasn't sure which links I should have been promoting.

Those are the major mistakes i've made in the past 2 months. I'm finally seeing what I need to do especially after looking at my competitors backlinks vs. mine and the potential reasons as to why i'm not on the first page yet.

Thats about it.. i'll update later on stuff I actually get done...

The best thread. Spent 2 hours reading it. Every single second was worth it.
See you soon at # 1 :biggthump

Really nice thread!
I'm following it..

by the way Siek... which software are you using to keep following your ranks?

Thanks

So i just skimmed through the topic and it seems to me that you took way too long to get where you did. You put a massive focus on RSS submits and blasted everything way too slowly

I may be wrong though, any third party want to comment?

It's called Rank Tracker. I switched over from Traffic Travis

Yeah... 2 Months from where I'm at. I'd say I took a lot longer to where I would like to be right now. But, i'm not complaining - the stuff I've figured out just on the project alone is really helping me apply this to my other projects. I started promoting a couple other local keywords and from the look of it, it's going pretty good.

I'm going to have to disagree with the massive focus on RSS feeds. It must look like I put alot of work into this project, but in reality its really not that much. With all the automation + server - everything just flies by. It takes me prob 30 seconds to submit RSS feeds everyday. Takes 10 min to setup a program and start it. The longest part for me is probably the article creation/spinning and writing up this journal. But, when this becomes a successful campaign, i'll be purchasing all my articles in the future to really make SEO pretty effortless.

  • This will be my final release of Link Dashboard. I have developed it into exactly what I need it for. I've integrated a Load/Save Campaign feature that helps me shift through different campaigns. Added HTML Link generator support for when I'm editing my articles.
  • This is everything I personally use on a daily basis at my finger tips. If you already downloaded this and have it installed. You'll need to uninstall it and reinstall.

Link Building
  • Ranked: 16
  • YSE (www): 87
  • YSE (No www): 28
  • MS - I spent the last 45 min on ezine articles and a word document. I used EZ as my source of information. I wrote up a unique article (600 words). I took this article and DID NOT SPIN and submitted it to MS - Web 2.0's. But from what I can see, there are: 17 successful submissions on this.
  • AMR - Tomorrow, i'll write another unique article and do a FULL blast on the money site. I am NOT going to spin this one. I'm then going to grab another article (mashup...mass spun) and do another blast on the initial web 2.0 websites.
  • My domain is ranking for "DOMAIN.org" so it jumped back to this... not too sure what to do so instead of worry about it too much, i'm just going to blast the one that has my "PAGES" indexed as well which is the "DOMAIN.org" one.
