Hey Guys,

I saw gray171's post on his POF Journey Case Study on WF and I thought it was an awesome idea and I thought I might toss my hat into the mix, I'll be promoting pretty heavily(relative to a newcomer) on POF.

I currently have accounts on EWA, Maxbounty, Peerfly, Azoogle and Ads4Dough. Heard some pretty rock solid things about EWA and my affiliate manager(Matt) has been quite responsive and helpful thus far.

We're going to start with about $50/day & increasing as we see fit.
We just started running it and here are the

Stats Thus Far:

Total Spent - $0.37 (ballin)
Impressions Delivered - 737
Clicks - 2
CTR - 0.136% (clearly a sign of our awesomeness and not a small sample size)
CPC - $0.15ish

Demo:
Country =United States
Age Between30, 40
Gender =Female
Ethnicity =Black
Income =Less Than 25,000, 25,001 to 35,000, 35,001 to 50,000
Login Count ≤100
Marital Status =Single, Separated, Divorced

I should be posting updates on a daily basis... hopefully we makes some munnies =)

Best of luck on your POF journey...by the way, you may want to check out the shitlist thread about EWA and read some people's opinions who have been with them awhile before scaling up your traffic to them.

Good luck, I have always been interested into working on POF. I am looking forward to your progress Ill be checking daily here.

subscribing. looking forward to reading results :)

Thanks for the updates. I tried POF recently and didnt make anything but I see the potential.

aww, for rilz? I had such high hopes... damnit, which ones are better?

Hey Guys,

We're budgeting out $50/day, BUT as of yesterday, we realized that marketing to black women was not profitable simply because the volume wasn't there. I think we're going to have to swap chocolate for vanilla seeing as how white peeps represent 90% of POF.

We had our CPM set to $0.87 for the entire day which was only enough to get close to about 10,000 impressions for the day (we have about 36 ads in rotation, so the sample sizing was not enough).

I think we're going to need to change our demographic only for volume reasons.... thoughts/comments?

Country =United States
Age Between30, 50

Campaign Stats:

Total Spent - $7.07 (ballin)
Impressions Delivered - 9385
Clicks - 22
CTR - 0.234%
CPC - $0.32ish

0.2% ctr is pretty good for FB so I'm thinkings its also pretty good with POF. Time to scale it up? increase the budget?

Yah, I was duly impressed with the CTR, our conversion was AWFUL though, I mean, granted it was a small sample size, we only had 1 conversion over 20 clicks, that being said, yeah, the volume just isn't there = /

I've tried POF too, and had the same sort of results. It was for a weight loss product though- which had been done to death. Just with any media buy though, you have to split test and what not.

Hey Guys,

Had a few guys tell me I should break up the age groups, thoughts?

You must consider to narrow down your age targeting and make 4 -10 campaing targeting specific age group. You will see that some ages are not click at all on your ads so stop them. If you find your winner bid more and you will see great results :)

Hey, that's a solid point, I heard another guy mention that, that being said, isn't that information I can obtain via my conversion pixel(diagram below)? POF spits out all demographic info on your clicks/conversions right? So it would be best to stay broad and chop down as necessary? Do I need to create another unique campaign, if it's necessary/optimal, then by all means.

FYI, those aren't my stats, those are just sample stats :)

If so... If I'm testing 3 different age groups that means:

Original Campaign

Images : 34
Ad Copies : 2

68 Total Ads

New Campaign

Images : 34
Ad Copies : 2
Age Groups : 3

204 Total Ads

Is this right?

204 total ads sounds about right, why don't you split test the 34 image with one ad copy first find the winner then change the ad copies see which one increase the ctr even more? Another question is are you biding cpm or cpc? how much you bidding? I don't think $50 is enough to split test 204 ads.

I don't think its necessary to break up the age group if POF already give you those information. I would go broad and filter it down.
