Wordpress selfhosting and .me question

Hello,

I was thinking of creating a blog for pleasure and eventual earnings (I'm happy with earning for hosting & domain name, and wouldn't be unhappy if I could earn a lot of $$$ as well).

So, I'm wondering how god is .me domain for seo? I would like to buy .me domain (because it sounds cool), and also to redirect wordpress to it. I read this article today: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/03/09/jetpack-boost/ and than saw that their site (jetpack) is on .me domain as well.

So, what to do? Go with .com of risk with .me?

rather than rely on articles, here's why I suggest:

do some google searches for random things that pop into your head. look at search results page by page until you find a .me domain. That might give you an idea.

Better solution:

create two blogs, one .com and the other .me and try it out for yourself. report back your results.

btw you might want to register and use blogforpleasure dot whatever

ps in iceland the country extension is .is so naturally a sex shop grabbed pen.is lol so you never know how stuff might work out until you try it.

Heh, but .me is kinda newer domain, right?

I had a .me and tried to get it to rank for a year with no success. Unless you can get love.me or text.me or bang.me I wouldn't bother with them. Just another .bust
