My sites dissapeared from Google!

None of the pages of dropped sites were de-indexed BTW. I still wonder why only 2 out of 4 with the same methods/plugins dropped?

It's impossible that google is punishing so many white hat websites.

I have a (stupid) theory about what's happening,
i would call it "the long judgment dance".

I hope that G is just putting on test thousands of webmasters.
The first thing i thought in these days was "I want revenge, now i go create 100,000 more backlinks to my website, G can't ignore me!)

Let's suppose i do it and, at the end of march, google is going to restore its previous SERPs not before to check what are the website which number of backlinks raised a lot during this month..

At the end of the "big dance" G surely know who is to "send to hell" and who probably has legit backlinks.

I would not create a lot of new backlinks immediately if I were you. Just go for a few and look what happens. don't let the provoke you to sow how you work/what you do....

OK guys, the site is now back at #7, so I think it's merely a dance.

Ok, I have a site on a 10 year old domain... It's a product review type site with all original content, ranked for hundreds of keywords on the front page, and many 1-2-3 spots. This was my primary money site. The keywords that made the most money on I built multiple secondary websites for those items in order to take multiple front page positions. On the 21st of Feb My Main site was slapped back repeatedly over the course of a week. Each day more and more pages were thrown to the back of the serps until every single page except for 1 (which sits at the #1 spot for its main keyword). All of my other secondary sites with newer domains drastically moved UP in positions at the same time...

So, although hardly scientific, it does seem to me to be a repeated topic "thats what's wierd, my site is 3 years old" is what I hear all over the boards... Rarely do I hear about NEWER sites being punished... Its like google decided it was "out with the old, in with the new" and aged domains got some sort of slap for being old. Anybody else feel this way? I mean I hear it over and over again, it is people MAIN "Whitehat" sites that are getting all the abuse!

It has been over a month now and I am still in the same spot, somewheree between #400 and infinity for almost every keyword, and ONLY on that old site. I used the exact same plugins, tags, themes and keywords on the newer sites, and I completely re-wrote the content. Same keyword density, and same approx overall word count.

Anyway, just thought I'd toss this out there if anyone cares to add it in to their thought process while trying to figure this out....

Here is what I did yesterday... I built a bunch of brand new accounts at bookmarking sites, and I slammed out about 100 fresh new backlinks to every single page on my site. Cost me $50 just in captaha credits to do it (cuz I made all new accounts and limited the links to 4 per account). I've waited almost 40 days to 'balance out' and its done no good so this is my last ditch effort. Now I am off to build a bunch of new sites to replace my old one... hopefully it comes back, but I'm not going to sit around waiting for it any more!

Good luck yall!

Around 2 days

Yea, that sounds like the typical dance... My problem is, right when this major update was going on my hosting company went bust without telling anyone and they just deactivated everyone and forwarded the domains to suspendedpage, I thought they mushy have got hacked, so I just waited around thinking they would restore from a backup or something. So, 2.5 days later I had to restore the site myself from a 1 month old backup and manually re-create about 10 posts that I was able to pull from the google cache. Now in webmaster tools I have all these wierd looking error pages showing in webmaster tools that look like they USED to be some form of sql injection type links or something that no longer resolve (like maybe my host did get hacked before he decided to pack it up and vanish?) Then, after about 3 weeks of serps getting worse, I decided that MAYBE it was the new host bing WAAY too slow... So, I moved it AGAIN! hahaha, so, to be fair, I do have ALOT going on, AND right in the middle of a MAJOR update... I just have a feeling I'm screwed for a long time and am just going to let the site sit and build a couple new ones and hit it hard....

I'm watching this intensely now though....

Dont think a dance chaps....

Had a site deinexed late Dec - then another - and another - not have returned.

I had only one site, and it too got slapped about a month ago.
The homepage dropped to page 2, and all other posts nearly disappeared from the serps... that's sux big time :(

probably because of google change of alghoritm. It's a common event unfortunately

Ok... I have some good news...

Suddenly today my main money site that vanished for over 40 days returned to the serps, BUT almost all of my top 5 positions are not like #9-20 positions. But this is substantially better than position 400+ where everything was!

Here is what I noticed also... My main competitor has been slapped back to infinity now, and my secondary competitor (a huge whitehat site!) has been pushed back to just below me on nearly everything as well...

Here is what I did... I wish I could say for certain which (if any) of the things I did brought SOME life back into my site...

First of all, 2 weeks ago I moved to a faster host... Then a few days ago I built about 120 bookmark backlinks (using BMD and a mix of about 1000 different sites) to every single page of my site. My site is not HUGE, but this still took 2 days and cost about $50 just in deccaptcha credits to do it... Yesterday I went looking for the possibility of faulty plugins or something that google might have decided they don't like or something, and I had one called ecStatic which I was using to filter out trackback spammers and "unwanted bots"... I Had an idea that maybe it was improperly filtering some kinda googlebot system that they are using for the farmer update... I also deleted a all the deactivated plugins, and about 4-5 other misc plugins that should not be offensive in any way, but I figured might as well get rid of them since I wasn't really using them anyway.

This was a lot of stuff to change all at once, but if you are running any kind of bot filtering plugins you may want to disable them and see if it helps. Throwing some mass backlinks across your whole site may help. (I only used BMD and bookmarks cuz it was the easiest thing I could do site-wide using the "import web pages" thing to get all the deep links, but there are certainly other ways to accomplish the same objective (throwing out a small lump of backlinks to every page). I am now going to experiment with 1 page at a time trying to boost it back up to the top by throwing more backlinks at 1 page at a time....

What I am noticing is that these stupid keyword domains seem to be dominating everything now... I have a feeling they may change that cuz this certainly doesn't help their index any having all these spammy micro niche sites hogging up the whole first page of the serps. (hehe, I own a fair share those spammy keyword domain sites myself so I can rip on um:) I mean, some of them the content is spun so badly you can hardly even figure out what they are TRYING to say... My thought is, they are still tinkering with the algo trying to dial everything in, so we may all be fluctuating up and down for months....

Anyway, I promised I'd return if I had anything to report... make of it what you will.

@kallen
hey man, nice to hear that you are back.

My authority website got slapped about a week ago. I got about a 60+ penalty for all of my keywords. I checked my number one competitor and they are nowhere to be found.

My site's structure was basically an authority review site. It had about a PR of 2 or 3 and content that came every other day - unique freaking content lol! And this stuff was quality too.

Here are my thoughts on why these sites got slapped...
Google looked at the SERPS and saw a lot of these authority sites being run by affiliates. This affiliation clearly made the content biased and lower quality. Heck, look at ezienarticles.com, those affiliate articles were crap and not useful at all. So Google slapped the biggest dogs in the ring. They first went after the largest contributors. After all, my site had a lot of authority and would sometimes rank without a lot of backlinking. This meant that little effort produced quick and awesome rankings.

What's to come?
I hate to say it man, but I think you're right. Google isn't stupid and they are on to Google snipers. The clock is ticking and it is only a matter of time.

It's not about if Google is going to slap product specific domains, but when.

So What about entertainment websites ?

Well one of my entertainment website all about pictures. This website still got PR2 but slapped from page 3 to nowhere on the other side main page 1-10 websites also got Pictures .I dont think they write any articles in gallery websites ?

Well In this niche

New Pictures are main sources rather then fresh content ?What to do then ? Write articles in picture websites ?

How to sort out penalty type ?

I wonder how much shit we are competing with eachother on, hehe, cuz your model is the same as mine. And maybe it is the fact that we were able to rank so much easier without a lot of backlinking is the real reason we fell so hard... I often ranked automatically with NO backlinking at all on some pretty competitive stuff... So there are a lot of sites out there with a lot more backlinks than I had (and this was my main reason for trying the whole big BMD blast thing) and in reality, I probably need quite a few more backlinks to compete on strictly a backlink COUNT level. And this is why my next experiment is to backlink 1 page at a time and bring it up to competitive levels with these crap sites backlink count and see what happens. I have a feeling that maybe what they have done is simply removed our 'authority' status, have downgraded significantly domain age, and/or made backlink count a larger priority. For the most part, all these exact phrase domains that are ranking DO have quite a few backlinks as well. So, I think we're going to just have to get our game on and not rely on the autthority of our websites anymore.

Another interesting thing I noticed is that, originally I said my secondary sites were still ranking well, and that they used re-written content from my main site... well, the minute my main website came back, ALL of the pages that were using re-written content from that site were thrown back to page 2-3... This was DRASTICALLY re-written content, but it DID essentially say the same thing... in one case I had 3 'backup sites' on the front page, and when my main site came back on, all 3 were thrown back. All together though, this happened about 15 times on different sites/pages that I compared, so there is NO DOUBT in my mind that there is something to this, and that they have someone really been able to step up this duplicate content thing....

Anyway, how is your site doing, seeing any forward progress?

Check for scrapers. Search Google for exact phrases unique to your site. Also check your logs for unwanted bots. Sounds like you got the -50 penalty.

i had one site bounce from page one to page 10 in one day.... google said they are changing a lot of things with their algorithm

Something similar has happened to a few of my WH sites today. No dupe content all content written by me and as it is a niche that I am interested in the content is pretty good. Funny thing is I have a few BH sites in similar niches that have gone way up in the SERPs. Net result after all that is happening? I am making more money LOL! Google seems to be losing the plot over this one. Anyway who knows in a day or 2 time, the situation might reverse. Google does this sort of stuff all the time.

I have just had a look at webmaster tools and it appears alot of my sites have slowed down! think it is time to head to a new hosting provider. The host provider I used got bought out recently and everyone was moved to the new owners systems and they look like they are slower! So this might have something to do with it.. who knows.
