Hey Squark Brilliant software, was wondering does the compete module require an account at Compete? It's $499 A month for a subscription to compete.com They have some crucial data I wouldn't mind viewing.
The basic data is available for free. The 1 thing that's really awesome about the $99 plan, though, is the referrer analytics. Really powerful... and I don't know where else to find that kind of information. Of course, it only works well on sites with enough traffic to be statistically projected from compete's user base.
The additional keyword data is great, too. You can get that for the lower monthly price. $199, I think.
Neither of them is a requirement. But in some of the videos I show what you can do if you do have them.
An inexpensive substitute for compete's keyword data is to use SEMRush. I don't have as much experience with that... but it looks promising.
I've considered offering a "part-time" compete option... but I haven't looked into whether they would shut me down, or not. Basically, I would let you run your site reports through my compete.com account (since I never use my monthly allotment of reports). So you could get a complete report for a given site (which is a ton of information) for just a few bucks.
It's on my list of things to check out in the next few weeks.
