Awesome software, 1 major issue with me, I'm running win 7.

I don't know if this is just me, but after the update, the search button doesn't work anymore. Also, before the update, the search button worked, but, it's doesn't search through the whole marketplace, you have to go to individual category to see the listings. And if you want to clear your search and start looking at all the products again, you can't.

I wanted to update as it seems to be failing to retrieve product list (you know individual vendor list of products they sell, upsells etc).

This caused me quite a bit of headache today. I couldn't figure out what change I made that caused it to stop pulling products. Then I went back to the basics and realized it wasn't anything I did... ClickBank changed the internals of their order page. And I scrape that data (one of the downsides to scraping... it can be brittle).

All fixed... publishing update now.

** Official Update **

I just published a major update to the cbSniper software. Here's what's changed...

* SQLite FTW! I dropped SQL Express (and it's setup dependency) due to overwhelming customer feedback. I'm on my 3rd database backend in 3 days It's a good thing I write good code so I can make a major switch like that in a few minutes instead of hours / days. Hopefully this one will stick. It's small and very fast (surprisingly so).

This update means you will have to re-download the marketplace. It shouldn't be a major issue and does *not* require a complete uninstall/reinstall like the last database change.

* Fixed ClickBank product discovery (ClickBank changed their internal order page structure and I had to rewrite my scraping expressions)

* Various minor improvements to fix multi-threading issues

Ok software working now, looks like I had to restart after the .net install....

So everything is working fine but the "Adjusted Gravity" is always "0" why is that?

Anyways love the software the historical gravity part is good to use before entering new risky niches.

Adjusted Gravity requires that I scrape some pages. I don't automatically calculate it for every product because it would take too long. If you click the "Find Extra Details" then it will grab everything it needs and calculate it.

The "0.00" is misleading. In the next version I'll update that so it says something more accurate like "n/a".

** UPDATE **
Done. Adjusted Gravity now displays n/a when it hasn't been calculated or gravity is 0.

I'll make a faq video on this... but here's how the search works...

By default you are viewing products by category. The search function always works within your current view. So if you want to do a global ClickBank search you would click on "Top Vendors" and then "All ClickBank Vendors". Then you could do your search.

The search simply creates a filter on your view. You can see it at the bottom of the vendor listings. If you want to clear your search and start over just click the red "x" button to clear your filter.

Also, because of that, searches are cumulative. In other words, I could search first for "dog training" and then search for "spanish" and the second search would search only within the initial search results.

If you want a fresh search just clear the filter.

I read you have updated the download file since yesterday.

Do I need to UNINSTALL what is already on my computer, then download the updated software and install it?

If so, where is the Uninstall file?

No need to uninstall. If it's already installed it will auto-update. If not, just go back to the install page.

The new update definitely worked! The software finally launches correctly.

Now that I have the chance to test this out, here is my feedback:

First of all, you should implement some sort of DRM into this beta version of cbSniper. This way the beta testers can reinstall the software with an account or something (in case something happened to our computers). Additionally, if you have a version of cbSniper with no DRM that gets free updates forever... what's to stop it from being shared online?

Second, the software works correctly (the downloading of the marketplace was really quick)... I haven't had time to check out the video yet, but I'll do that soon. It's pretty user friendly even without the video, though.

I just wanted to to say thank you so much for releasing this beta version on Black Hat World, and giving us free updates to boot!

Hi squark, I get an error when trying to connect to the website to download the software, with the following message:

Launching Application.
URLDownloadToCacheFile failed with HRESULT '-2146697211'
Error: An error occurred trying to download the application

Any suggestions?

Are you trying to install it through a proxy?

Oh almost forgot Squark, about using Alexa for demographics is that wise? from the little i have picked here and there alexa is easily manipulated and all wouldn't that make its Audience report less than accurate?

Alexa is pretty easy to manipulate. If you're looking for free data, though, it does give you something to use. Most sites aren't actively trying to manipulate alexa, though. So it's a good tool, in general. But it can be manipulated for specific sites.
