Just a quick post to thank you Matt for a fine piece of software. You must have put in a lot of effort which, I'm sure, we *all* appreciate.

I'm not quite sure why you've decided to implement it on top of .NET, I'm sure that the majority of the problems people are reporting are caused by that.

.NET is very particular about what fluff previous versions leave behind and at times it is difficult to get .NET back to a "clean" state where the latest version can be installed without much problem.

I'm not particularly happy about M.S. owning my machine, so in most cases I do no install anything requiring .NET

The only reason I made an exception this time was the fact that I am *always* curious about CB tools and you have provided a clear screenshot, in general, I prefer non-ms, non-.NET tools.

Still, this does not take anything away from the quality and usefulness of your tool, well done and a big thank-you.

As I said earlier, create a VM instance and install there. This APP is worth it, .NET or not.. makes everything almost right at your fingertips.

I've watched your video beginning to end and truly
appreciate clarity of the video and the sound is excellent,
compared to other videos of others telling us they

I suggest before you post blaming the software that you make sure it's NOT in fact your own problem. The same thing happened to me. You'll most likely need to disable your firewall/antivirus software. This software is solid...

I just tried disabling my firewall and antivirus, but the same problem occured - the program stopped responding.

I just installed it...my self-consciousness thanked me for it. Maybe you could install it under a Virtual Guest Machine in a different OS. I'm using Windoz 7 64 bit. Worked fine for me.

Didn't read all the posts above, but my feedback below probably won't be like much of the above.

Firstly, you have done a nice job of creating software that brings together a bunch of tools that can be useful to people wanting to market CB products. It is very similar to Affiliate Elite, but you have included some demographic websites into yours which makes it stand out. Overall I think it is definitely handy for CB and it is very clear that it won't be free forever. I like to believe I have at least some idea of the work involved in this and people should definitely be grateful that you have shared it for free, for now at least.

Having said the above, what you showed in the video on your site etc isn't exactly ground breaking. It might be for beginners, and if that is the market you are targeting then they will be happy. You have done a stellar job of creating a VERY useful swiss army knife for CB. You've shown the power of simply improving on the wheel.

*** Official Update ***

I just published a series of updates that should address most of the issues people are having. There will definitely still be some outliers (like the black screen issue). I'll get those on a case-by-case basis.

I also want to remind everyone that this is a first-release *beta* test. As much as I wish there weren't bugs and other issues, they will definitely happen. It's why I need to get it on a lot of machines and test it out. And it's why you're getting it for free right now.

Most of you get that. There are a few who don't. I'm cool with that... but just keep that in mind. This is a process. And you're participating very early in the process.

** And, as a quick side note, any course that comes out proclaiming how easy it is to make millions in software without knowing what you're doing is absolutely full of *crap*. Once you get to the selling and distribution it can be awesome. And there are certain marketing advantages. But getting through this stage (for anything more than a trivial app) is the bitch of it. You're getting a closer look at what happens behind the scenes. And there's a lot of scrambling going on right now as fundamental early design decisions need to be rethought and reworked. It's a hassle. It will be worth it. But it's anything but easy. **

Since I've been focusing on the known bugs for the past 2 days I haven't gone over all the comments here yet. Expect me to come back with a *lot* of replies and posts over the next little bit.

Lastly, I have some potentially bad news. This has taken off faster than I anticipated. I am approaching 1,000 unique downloads in less than 2 days. I certainly want to get it on as many test machines as I can... but I'll probably kill the download page much faster than I originally anticipated.

Probably as soon as I get through the core issues people are experiencing (which may be with the update I just posted) I'll shut down the download page. I'll give notice in here when I do it... but I don't think it will be any more than a few days longer.

P.S. Ok... this will really be the last thing. If you're sharing this link with friends or your list that's totally up to you. However... several people have asked if there will be an affiliate program when I release this. Of course there will be. And I'm planning on making it very, very easy for my affiliates to make money... often without even marketing.

As an affiliate you will be able to give away certain pieces of software (this will probably be one of them) for free to anybody you want. Lists, friends, download directories, whatever. Your affiliate code will be baked into the software. If you're sharing this link you might want to want a few weeks and at least get paid for it

** NOTE: This reply has nothing to do with the functionality of the software. It is about the technical and business reasons why I made certain decisions. You can safely skip this reply if that side of it is of no interest.

Funny you should mention that. I've owned a software company since 1995. And this is the first time I've ventured outside the standalone executable space. If you own any of my previous software you know that I have avoided .net as well.

The answer is two-fold. First, and this is somewhat esoteric, I just wanted to try it out. I'm big on experimenting and I wanted to go through the process of developing and releasing a .net application. I actually have a standalone .exe of this developed already. It was how it was initially written.

And, so far, here's what I think... The .net library is full-featured and far richer than any other vendor-supplied library I've worked with. The coding and design portion was far better than I anticipated. Loved it.

The execution and deployment have been far poorer than what I've experienced in the past. That part of it (the part I'm dealing with right now) has been disappointing and could seriously sway future development decisions. I have to weigh developer productivity against customer experience.

The second reason I chose .net (and WPF, in particular) is because I'm simultaneously developing this and a handful of companion products as Silverlight applications. The code sharing and design possibilities are very intriguing. And that's ultimately where this product is headed... cross-platform (win/mac) running out-of-browser on Silverlight (Microsoft's answer to AIR).

I have released products in the past using AIR / Flex and been very successful with them (my first huge internet success was a Flash-based software product written using Flex). But Silverlight has other advantages that swayed me that direction.

P.S. I'm open to any other dev / business questions as well. If you're a software developer or want to get into it I'm open to your questions. I won't give away anything I consider strategic to my positioning... but I'll share my thought processes.

Finally I got it to work on my laptop and I'm testing it now. By the way, I think the video is one the best I've every seen when it comes to CB marketing. I can tell that you put a lot of time and effort into it, including the software.

When you release the final version I'll be one of the first to sign up as an affiliate.

Why SQL Server Express now?

That's been the hardest decision I've made so far. Initially I was using an embedded database that was distributed with the app.

However, based on the first round of error reports, that database was causing compatibility issues on some machines.

I needed to implement something fast that wouldn't have compatibility issues. SQL Express fit the bill. Even though it comes with install / footprint baggage.

Once I get past the first round of errors I may dive back into an embedded solution... as that's still my first choice.

SQL Express upsides: Fast. Microsoft product (integration, etc.)

SQL Express downsides: Install / memory footprint. Microsoft product (hehe). Shared use (I could be affected by other configurations / security settings).

Ultimately it will probably be moot. Version 2 is already under way and has no database component. It uses a server-hosted db on my servers and communicates via web services.

You only need to uninstall / reinstall if you got the very first version I released. The easiest way to test is to let the software run the update when prompted. If that doesn't fix it then uninstall / reinstall.

Wow I must say it does open up your eyes to have access to the historical gravity I mean you can be so blind as to start promoting a product with high gravity thats only that way because of the initial marketing campaign they used. Really great stuff mate ill be sure to put the program through its paces for you

If you want to see a *great* example of misleading gravity check out vendor gsniper. It's a unique example because it's launched twice. But you can see the launch pattern really clearly. (I'm not bashing gsniper... I'm simply pointing out the deficiencies of relying too heavily on gravity.)

If you time your campaign right you can make a lot of money on the launch. But if you let yourself get sucked in to the high gravity *during* launch (or shortly thereafter) it's probably not going to end well for you.

Your software opens my eyes and now I'm sure that I can get more from CB by choosing the most profitable product.
Now one thing I'd like you to work on if possible. Sometimes we choose a CB product and found after that the main keyword does not have enough searches to build a profitable website while CB gravity tells us that this product is killing the market. How can you find the type of marketing used to get the best from the product. I mean if affiliates use only SEO or newsletter or PPC or anyother way to get interested traffic to the product. I am still a newbie and don't ask your software to give me all solutions about CB product. But if ever this is possible and you found it necessary, I think it could be a plus value to the software and more money in our pocket.

Excellent question. I've got a video (not yet released) that goes over this... but here it is in a nutshell...

Almost every publicly available metric you'll find has more to do with quantity over quality. For example, you can use my Yahoo trick to discover how many affiliates there are and largely who they are. But you can't determine the *quality* of those backlinks.

A word of warning... I'm about to suggest that you spend some money

Unfortunately I've not ever found a free publicly available database that can show me which of those backlinks is actually working. But compete.com will let me do some pretty cool referrer analytics using its paid version. But it's not cheap. It's worth it... but it's not cheap.

You can also get some great search resources from SEMRush.com.

So, while quantity is important (no traffic definitely means no revenue), it can be very overrated. And in my style of marketing it's completely overshadowed by the *quality* of the traffic. And that's much more difficult to assess.

Here's my tentative timeline...

March 14 product launch. This application is a small piece of the overall product. The launch will not be a huge, hyped, *guru* launch. One of the super-cool advantages to having software to sell is that I can give away the methods, information, and content for free. So I don't need the mystery and hype of the typical launch. If you've watched the video then you already know the model... top-notch content that can be freely shared. Paid tools that are locked down.

Working backwards from the launch...

March 7 affiliates start giving away free software and content. Affiliate will be able to give away software with their affiliate code baked in. I want to create a very low-resistence model for the affiliate. I *don't* want to encourage or support hypey, trumped-up marketing messages. I've seen the return #'s for some of the big launches over the past year... and I don't want that.

That means by the first week of March I'd like to have most the content for my sales resources. Obviously testimonials can be added almost any time... but the first week of March would be ideal.

One of the most effective sales pages I ever bought from was for James Malinchak's speaking boot camp. (James will be on ABC's Secret Millionaire show in March... so he's doing something right). His pitch was basically "Here's what I've got" and then pages and pages of testimonials. It was killer. Ideally, that's what I want.

It looks like an amazing piece of software, Ive been watching the video, but there seems to be a problem. When you click on a product, and you have your information down at the bottom, clickbank detail,Products,extra details,historical gravity.
When I try there is no information in the products window, so I cant click on to the website like you did, Also in the extra details, the adjusted gravity always displays 0.00 on every product I chose.
Hope this helps, but once again it looks awesome. Will wait to see if you can sort this out,

Those details are all extra details. Only the information on the first tab (ClickBank detail) is included in the ClickBank data feed. The products and extra details need to be "discovered". I don't do it for all the products automatically because it would take days to run. So when you find a product that you want more information for just click either "Find Extra Details" to fill in the extra details information or "Find Products" to fill in the products table.

I'm a copywriter and I think this product will go gangbusters when you finally get it released ... because it's not trashware.. It the friggin' swiss army knife to clickbank affiliates.

Downloaded earlier today and left a comment about a quirk at your site; question is can I force the update? I ran the program and it asked for an update but I didn't update - now when I close it and reopen it doesn't ask. I wanted to update as it seems to be failing to retrieve product list (you know individual vendor list of products they sell, upsells etc).

This is a fantastic piece of software; I actually think I could make some money with it and am quite excited about your affiliate program ... bought a domain earlier today.

Am running Win7 64x.
