Reverse engineering Flippa auctions

Haha. Nice. Never read that thread (believe it or not).

I've pretty much just applied PPC to your post (without knowing it!).

It's not really anything new as it should be pretty obvious to anyone who browses Flippa (or any marketplace for that matter), I just saw that auction and realised how easy it would be to replicate it.

Great minds think alike

I should bag on you for not hitting the search button but i learned a ton from the site flipping guide you put out so frankly I cant say much. I havent been on in 2 weeks and this thread was at the top when I logged on. Alls I thought was...really? lol

Ha yep! Reading through your thread just now, looks like you do it from the SEO side, which isn't really something I've ever been into.

I actually wrote an article a few months back about how Flippa sellers should protect themselves against this technique: http://experienced-people.net/forum...eal-All-Details-About-Your-Business-On-Flippa

But yeah, my bad, I don't really search that much so I guess I should be thanking you for sub-conciously giving me inspiration for this thread :)

Same here, have been using this to "copy" sites using SEO as a primary means of getting traffic and it has worked out pretty well. You will still get some "duds" but your chances of failure are dramatically reduced and you can feel much more confident in your investment of time and money into a new site.

Had not thought about replicating PPC sites/campaigns though. Nice touch and one which I'll be testing out VERY VERY SOON....like this weekend :D

can the person you hire to copy his site also copy their scripts or no?

I agree with that post you linked to 100%. Never ever give anyone your keywords, you are cutting your own throat. Have you noticed the number of people posting on auctions asking questions and digging for information.. the more you read the more a pattern emerges. They have no intention of bidding and just want your keywords and anything they can find out.. If I see anyone giving out keywords and their site is ranked and this is for a niche I am in I immediately take them and see how easy they are to rank for and just outrank them.. this is the easiest way to get your site above theirs and up the serps quickly. Why waste time on keyword research when you can do flippa research!

Nice method.

You do have to be careful though, there are many people telling lies about site earnings and traffic on there (as you pointed out). By hanging around there a bit you start to be able to see quite quickly who is fake though.

Thanks for the share though, it can be a great way to pick up new ideas.

Anyone tried this yet? Hate posting decent ideas if no-one follows through with it.

Would be nice to hear some success stories :)

I want to try this as soon as I can but right now im in the middle of a different money making method. When i try this out though I will post how it went :)

Currently working on it actually. Thought of this a little before but reading the OP inspired me and gave me a few more ideas. Will take a while to complete but hopefully I can make some money off of this!

Looking forward to hearing your success story! Anyone here should EASILY be able to make at least $100 a day using this with a slight twist.

It never ceases to amaze me how often I come here and read posts like this that would seem obvious, but are far from it. Thanks given...and some excellent additional help throughout the thread.

Very usefull post. Started to work using this method. For this I need someone to replicate a site. Please PM me if you are good in it :)

I will check this one.

Is the backlink on filppa worth it? I see the auction ended but the link/site is still listed, if their link do-follow and worth it?

Does it stay listed forever there, when it ends the auction?
