Wayback Restorations: What's the actual going rate right now?

Hey everyone,

Been doing full restorations for about 2 years now. Wayback Machine into a clean, manageable WordPress site, parametric URLs preserved, all old owner info stripped out. My own custom tool handles the download and cleanup.

I also handle the full deployment - connecting the domain to the hosting via Cloudflare so it's completely live and ready for the client.

Curious what the actual going rate looks like from people who buy or sell this regularly, since I mostly priced myself based on gut feeling early on.

Right now, I’m charging anywhere from $80 to $120 depending on the size and messiness of the site.

Also, with all the recent Google updates, are you guys still seeing the same demand for restoring drops for PBNs and 301s?

Is my pricing completely out of touch for a fully hands-off service with URL preservation, or is this the standard for quality work? Would love to hear from both buyers and sellers.

Fair question. The advantage isn’t access to a script, it’s getting a verified, fully deployed result without spending time learning, configuring, debugging, and checking everything yourself.

A typical delivery includes:
- complete wayback recovery with failed file retries
- preservation of query string/parametric URLs
- removal of archived junk and previous owner information
- conversion into a manageable WP site
- deployment, Cloudflare setup, and final QA

Open-source tools and AI can help someone do this themselves, just as WP being free doesn’t eliminate the market for WP developers). The buyer is paying for the time saved, the experience built across many restorations, and accountability when the automated result isn’t correct.

My custom tooling also uses proxies, retries incomplete downloads, applies a junk pattern library built from real restorations, filters unwanted files during retrieval, and uploads directly into WP.

So yes, a technical person with enough time could reproduce the process. My service is for people who would rather receive a working site in 1-2 days than turn the restoration into their own project.
