I keep seeing two completely opposite opinions lately.

Some affiliates say AI has allowed them to scale content faster than ever and they're seeing better rankings.

Others claim AI generated content is becoming easier for Google to identify, leading to weaker rankings and lower trust signals.

What's confusing is that I can find successful examples on both sides.

So where do you think the real advantage comes from today:

  • AI generated content at scale?
  • Human written content?
  • Or is it more about links, authority, and brand than content itself?

If you were launching a brand new iGaming affiliate site in 2026, how much of your content would you trust AI to create and why?

AI at scale works until an update wipes your whole portfolio overnight seen it happen repeatedly post-HCU. Human content alone means nothing on a zero-authority domain, Google doesn't care how well it's written.iGaming is won on links, aged domains, and brand signals. Content is almost an afterthought in that niche.
Fresh domain in 2026? I wouldn't bother personally the gap between new and established players there is just too wide to close organically.

Both sides are kinda right and thats whats messing people up. The ones scaling AI content and winning... most of them already had aged domains or some link power behind it, so the content was never really doing the heavy lifting alone. New site with zero authority pumping out raw AI? thats the stuff getting flattened.

For igaming specifically id be careful. The YMYL angle makes it worse, google is way more twitchy about gambling/money pages than some random hobby blog. I tried full AI on a casino review site last year and rankings were fine for like 3 months then just bled out. The pages that held were the ones i actually had someone rewrite with real opinions, payout experiences, screenshots, that kinda thing.

So if i was launching fresh in 2026 id let AI do the skeleton... outlines, boring informational stuff, FAQ filler. But anything reviewy or money page i want a human touching it. Maybe 40% AI assisted tops, and even that gets edited.

@j4juniors honestly the content vs links debate is a bit of a trap. in this niche its links + brand carrying you, content just needs to not be garbage and not look mass produced. thats the real bar imo.

I appreciate your benchmark, solid mindset honestly. The only thing I'd slightly disagree on is the 40% AI part. Personally, I'd keep it closer to 20% if the goal is truly high quality content. AI is great for structure and research, but the real value still comes from human insights, experience, and originality.

I have been reading, it seems like AI is great for speeding up content creation, while human editing is what makes the content actually useful. Personally, I think content alone is not enough anymore ,authority, backlinks, and brand trust seem to play a huge role as well.

From what I’m seeing, AI is not the problem itself. The issue is how it’s used. Sites pumping out low-value pages at scale usually struggle, while sites using it with human editing and real insight can still perform well. But overall, backlinks, brand trust, and site authority still play a bigger role than just content source.

That's pretty much how I see it as well. AI can help create content faster, but human input is what makes it trustworthy and unique. What I'm still curious about is this if two sites publish content of similar quality, does Google give more weight to authority and backlinks than the content itself?

No, it is not hurting SEO, simply because GEO and SEO are two different things :)

Yeah debating 20% vs 40% AI is kinda missing the point for igaming. if you are launching fresh in 2026 without a massive link budget or an aged domain, you are basically bringing a knife to a gunfight anyway.

i ran a test last year with two new domains in the sports betting niche. one was 100% hand-written by decent writers, the other was mostly AI with a quick human edit for formatting and table updates. neither did anything for five months. then we dropped some heavy niche edits on both. the AI one actually started ranking better simply because we had scaled out 5x more long-tail keywords and had better topical coverage.

point is... google doesn't have a magic AI detector that works consistently. it has a spam filter and an authority filter. @j4juniors if you have the budget to build real authority and buy clean links, use AI to scale the boring stuff. if you don't have the budget, even 100% human content won't save a fresh domain in this niche.

I feel like people are framing it wrong tbh. It’s not AI vs human anymore it’s generic vs useful. AI helps you publish faster, but trust, brand, and having something original still seem to be what separates winners.

I think this right here is the issue. If done properly there is absolutely no way to identify AI generated content no matter what anyone says. Basically if you do this step right, it can help you upscale so many times faster.

Content isn't the biggest problem anymore. Authority and backlinks seem to have a much bigger impact these days.

I think AI content can help with speed, but rankings still come from trust, quality, and real expertise. For a new iGaming affiliate site, I would use artificial intelligence services for research and drafts, but keep human review, brand voice, links, and compliance as the real ranking edge.
