For short keywords, it is impossible for someone getting on top first page something who is new in technical aspects.
also i feel seo takes a lot of time. it is not like expecting good things or start getting good traffic from first month

Long tail keywords pretty much yes if you dont care about keywords ranking but getting alot of traffic naturally
