All the methods you mentioned still work, but in my opinion they work much better when you use them together, not separately.
For my own site, which is still relatively new, I use a combination of methods. First, I create pages for a very specific search intent, not just broad keywords. I use AI for writing articles, but in a controlled way, mostly for collecting information and structuring ideas.
Then I rewrite and update the content based on the real search queries I see in Google Search Console. I try keep old pages updated with fresh and relevant information. In my experience, Google reacts quite well when an older page is not abandoned, but improved and updated over time.
Internal linking and clustering are also very important for me. This helps show the value of the site and builds more authority around the topic.
The next step is social media, not just for backlinks, but to slowly promote the brand, increase visibility, and build more trust. After that, if the budget allows, I would only use quality and relevant guest posts.
It is not a fast strategy, but from my own experience, this combination works quite well in the long term.

right now topical authority and search intent seem more important than just targeting random keywords...strong internal linking helpful content and brand signals are working well for many sites....ai content can help but human editing and originality still make a big difference..

You' re looking at the right areas because SEO feels very different now compared to a few years ago. From what I'm seeing, topical authority and solid internal linking are working better than chasing tons of random backlinks.

AI content still works too, but only if it's edited properly and adds real value. Curious though-are you testing on fresh domains or aged/expired ones?

I think modern SEO is more about content quality ,user experience , and brand trust than just backlinks. google is getting better at understanding helpful content, so websites that answer real user questions clearly are performing better.

what would work depends on the niche but local SEO is probably the most stable for consistent returns, parasites are still viable but Google keeps trimming them so you need to diversify across platforms.

Don't for a single tactic, but work on your consistency and better distribution. Yes Parasite seo is still working in some niches, but having that topical relevancy will hold for long time.
For AI content make sure you edit it properly and use it with custom images supporting the content.

Right now they're cutting specific deals with specific news outlets to cite them in the AI responses

Honestly topical authority + distribution seems way more important now than just blasting backlinks everywhere.
