Email marketing - when done right, obviously (ie. not milking your list dry of every penny in the 1st week, but actually building long-term relationships of trust with it, and nurturing it in general) - has been the best money maker, even better than SEO in my opinion as you own it, and can do whatever you want with it, basically print cash on demand if you're good at this business model, whereas with google you rely on their malevolence benevolence...
