I’ve been noticing that sites with more brand searches seem to perform better in rankings.

Do you think Google indirectly rewards brand awareness and search demand?

Or is it just a correlation and not an actual ranking factor?

Would like to hear real experiences.

It’s more of a correlation than a direct ranking factor.

A strong brand brings more clicks, returning users, and backlinks - and those are what impact rankings.

I can only mention from what I've seen doing some Online PR for B2B Brands

What definitely helps is established social media presence (I guess they call it social proof)

Plus getting articles / features in industry relevant resources

It's natural and should be this way for any legit business brand.

Yes I noticed that too, brands with search demand seem to rank better. But I feel it’s more about trust and user behavior, not a direct factor.

Yes, they can help indirectly since more branded searches build trust and better user signals over time.

Yes, brand searches do help rankings, but mostly in an indirect way. When more people search for your brand, click your site, and engage with it, it builds strong trust and relevance signals over time.

It is not that Google is counting brand searches as a direct ranking factor. It is more about what those searches represent, which is real demand, recognition, and user preference.

In practice, sites with strong brand signals tend to rank easier and require fewer backlinks compared to unknown sites, so the impact is very real even if it is not direct.

Feels more like correlation than a direct ranking factor. When more people search for a brand , it usually means better trust , clicks , and engagement , which can indirectly help rankings. So brand awareness still matters , just not in an obvious "Google rewards it" way.

According to me it is not a direct ranking factor, but it absolutely acts like a strong indirect signal.

When people search for your brand, click your site, and come back, it tells Google you’re a recognised entity with demand and trust. That usually aligns with better rankings because those sites also earn more backlinks, mentions, and engagement. From real-world results, once a site starts getting consistent branded searches, rankings tend to stabilise and improve especially in competitive niches. So yeah, not something you can “optimise” directly, but building brand demand is one of the most powerful SEO advantages right now.

I think that branded searches do not directly boost rankings, but they usually come from trust and repeat users, which can improve overall performance signals over time.

did you notice if the ranking improvement happens for both branded and non-branded keywords or just branded ones?

it’s more of an indirect thing, strong brands get more clicks and trust, so they tend to perform better overall even if it’s not a direct ranking factor.

Google does not list “brand awareness” as an explicit ranking factor, but branded search demand is strongly correlated with better rankings and likely feeds into several indirect signals that do help you rank.

It's mostly correlation, but there’s likely some indirect impact. When more people search for a brand, it usually means higher trust, better engagement, and more branded clicks-signals Google can pick up on. Strong brands also tend to earn natural backlinks and repeat visits, which directly help rankings. So Google isn’t rewarding "brand searches" itself, but the effects of brand strength definitely influence SEO.

Recognised brands have an edge over regular sites. Brand searches are an indicator of good branding and Google definitely rewards it.

Wow....Plenty of intitutive comments and insights , I will keep it as notes and make them useful for enhance my upcoming tactics.

You noticed this perfectly.

Google is currently heavily focused on E-E-A-T. Brands that prioritize contextual link-building alongside brand awareness perform much better. Google views this as a natural trust signal because other websites are attributing informative content directly to that brand entity.

As I know when brand searches grow rankings usually follow, not sure it’s a direct factor but it definitely helps overall trust signals.

Brand searches increase trust, CTR, and user signals that help improve rankings.

Yes, As per my opinion, more brand searches usually go hand in hand with better rankings, even if it’s not a direct ranking factor.

Feels more like correlation than a direct ranking factor . Sites with strong brands usually get better CTR , links , and trust signals , which naturally helps rankings . Brand demand just amplifies everything else rather than being the main reason.
