So i've recently dipped my toes in making websites through wordpress. My goal was to create a ecommerce/blogging website which would contain affiliate marketing links. I've stumbled across some ai tool for website making and it made literally the whole site homepage to shop in 30 seconds. Whats the point in trying to learn website making if ai will just beat me to it. Also I have 0 idea on what other thing to start that is worth making money in 2026

there is different ways to make money with websites as well you could learn SEO for example

But honestly, the real magic and where the money's at isn't just making the site, it's understanding the strategy, killer content, and knowing how to make it convert, which ai still can't truly nail

I created one on Hotmart to promote my book. I designed the colors, typography, videos, and images for selling my book. It was the easiest thing I could do since I'm not a computer programmer.

In 2026, spending too much time learning website building techniques is not a worthwhile investment.

This is because AI tools are already intelligent and user-friendly enough.

If you want to build a website, you can use tools like chatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. Whether it's code or design, they can quickly provide the results you want; you just need to tell the AI your requirements.

Instead of spending a lot of time learning, it's more worthwhile to spend time learning how to tell the AI your requirements and quickly get the results you want.

Now, I just feed the code of any website to AI, and it can quickly provide the modifications I want, without me having to look at the code line by line.

It’s worth it, but not easy. Building and growing a website to generate income takes time and many factors. If you have a strong foundation in content and marketing knowledge, you can achieve it.

It depends. To learn now from scratch probably not that valuable. On the other hand almost impossible to have a business without a website. So websites are here to stay for a while. Just learn the global part and focus on other business aspects.

AI can speed up building a site, but the real value is still in strategy, content, SEO, and how you make it convert. Learning those skills will always matter if you want to make money long term.

Focus on marketing. Humans will still be the ones buying whatever you want to sell or build. Learn how to sell to them - SEO, social media, email, whatever

ThYs just it
Marketing intelligence is still growing and ai can't beat that
Wasting too.much of a time on coding while not been a coder is not worth it
Meanwhile ai can't do backend
And any coder that will do that must know his or her salt

Fr. The AI race is trying to eliminate anything manual. Even using AI to build websites will become automated soon.

Don't let ai freak you out because those generic sites never convert as well as one with a real personal touch. Just focus on mastering marketing and building a niche audience, since that’s where the actual money is going to be

Unfortunately most here are out of touch. I will not recommend specializing into the website making since AI with claude help will get the website running and making in no time and will better understand you as a client than some 3rd word freelancer and the final product will be better generally. You can however specialize in marketing here is what you can improve and spend time and where the money are

I don't think there is money to be made in setting up websites for people with Wordpress. Its more likely you'll profit selling themes and plugins that are good and useful. Thats where the money is. Or in the repair of any functionary as a freelancer for hire.

AI builds fast but can't replace strategy, trust, or niche authority. Learn marketing, not just tools. Websites still print money in 2026.

You don't know how to sell it I guess.

You can make money with it, $100 a day is very easy if you can communicate with people in your local market.
If your local market sucks, go for remote gigs. Best is when you focus on one niche.

If you can't communicate and have only coding skills, find a job and maintain someone's websites.

Themes and plugins can't be sold very easily. You need a lot more than just connection with people. Who will buy your plugins? Are you so good at market research? Great, then you can make money on any service and product.

You need a lot more to setup with plugins and themes.

Build big sites for big reasons. Not everyone knows how to make a website that turns traffic into customers. Many businesses struggle with it.

Also, there's a problem with websites in general, they're badly designed, not optimized for niche, not tested on audience.
Bad design starts with making a website full of wordpress plugins and themes - maintaining it is more time consuming than creating it.

A website that has 10 leaks and Anthropic tool will detonate within seconds.
https://red.anthropic.com/2026/mythos-preview/
What type of website is that? Static one?
If it has any backend and it has been created by AI, it'll be hacked sooner or later, just like many Wordpress sites.

If you want to make money from your website, besides creating it, you need to turn it into a money-making platform. Or, learn SEO to generate more income?

AI builds fast but can't build trust or brand. Learn marketing and audience psychology. Tools change, skills stay. Websites still work in 2026.

Creating a website is always worthwhile if it generates income for you, allowing you to further develop your knowledge to create more websites, or you can learn SEO to grow those websites stronger, thus yielding even more value. Start with familiar tasks and do them daily. Learn something new, and you'll see that everything is valuable.
