I thought A*exHost was trash, but then I discovered this...

Yesterday, two of my websites went down. Both were on separate hosting plans and both got some kind of database errors. It took them almost the whole day to understand that the problem is on their side. Lost earnings for half a day, but that's okay. Then they finally understood the problem and told me that the backup that was taken 1-2 hours ago would be restored. Guess what? Now, one of the websites that was movies website is now some kind of alcohol website and another one got rolled back for a month.

Overall, after using this for a month, I can say performance-wise it's great. Had some downtimes in the past, but nothing terrible. But if I have to face issues like this? I'd say it's not worth it and I would stay away from them.

Thank you for sharing your experience, we appreciate the opportunity to clarify.

The incident you experienced was caused by a rare disk failure affecting a shared storage cluster on our cPanel shared hosting plans that hosts approximately 40,000 websites. Despite the scale of the issue, we were able to recover the system within a few hours by restoring from a backup taken roughly 1 hour prior to the incident. To prevent further data inconsistency, write operations were temporarily halted during this process.

In infrastructure at this scale, disk failures - as physical components - are unfortunately unavoidable from time to time. What matters is how quickly and effectively the system can be recovered. In many cases, recovery of such large storage systems can take days, yet we were able to resolve it within hours.

Additionally, we maintain an advanced cold backup infrastructure worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, which allows us to provide this level of recovery - even on shared hosting plans that cost as little as $1/month.

We understand that any downtime or data inconsistency is frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. But we aim to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Lastly, we’d like to remind you that regardless of whether it’s your first day or your last, you are always eligible for a refund for any unused service period. If you want to switch to another hosting provider.

Thank you again for your feedback.

I'm using virtualine, but the database server is down. It's been down for three days, there's been no response, and it hasn't been restored.

I hope they fix it soon.

Yes, we are currently performing a security update that only affects our website. You will be able to access the site within the next few hours.

I like the service and pricing. However I would wish better customer support. Currently locked out of the account but not able to reach anybody.
