Yes there are always repercussions with spam. You might get some anti that gets really pissed off by these ads and won't stop until he thinks he's gotten revenge on you somehow. Also, spamming has a tendency to make your business look bad in my opinion.
That sounds like karma or wishful thinking, not like real legal repercussions.

Well generalising the fact that spam isn't appreciated what's the point in doing it?
I didn't click a link from about 25 spam messages and I'm sure the majority of skype users don't so your just wasting your time and effort for nothing whilst destroying the reputation of your site.
