Right now, facebook is Mike Tyson in his prime. But even he ended up hitting the mat in the 11th.

Twitter went downhill the day Oprah ranted. Next thing you know, instead of reading "Silicon Valley VC's benchmark 3rd-round $15MIL acquisition", all you saw in your stream was "LOLZ <3 sO cUtE OMG BeeATcH!!". FB is approaching its theoretical Oprah rant.

When my friends' moms starting getting Myspaces, it was like that shit was over the next day. Well, guess what? I get friend's requests daily from moms. Shit is done. But who gives a fuck as long as they keep posting bikini pics!!! :greddy2:

^^^^ Read that on TC. "president of revenue"?? What he's done elsewhere is phenomenal. But the twitter platform pales in comparison to the open-market source of myspace. If he can more narrowly focus his efforts per niche (just like we do w/ CPA's!!), they might have a snowball's chance in hell of cashing out the angels with their pride still intact.

Agreed. Facebook is going nowhere except going to be more and more a part of peoples lives...atleast for a couple years (who knows, maybe they will be more long term than that)

They see what happened to Myspace when they came around, they are going to ensure they are more cemented in the internet, like their big brother google.


I expect them to start cloning alot of Google services soon lol...such as Google Local and all that...

Facebook Voice maybe..

Anyways the average 13-22 year old female or male is completely addicted to facebook. Alot of middle age people use it for dating and to keep in touch with family ect...

Big companies lose sight of (or never had sight of) the "essence" of social platforms that cause users to endear themselves to them from the get-go.

MySpace had it and lost it due to switching from "startup thinking" to "big company thinking" and now its Facebook's turn.

Will Google Me be relevant? Time will tell. But it won't be the next REALLY big thing because even passive internet users are weary about Google's stranglehold over their private data right now, let alone as a social network.

Correction my friend who wears hats of black, Google has the hardware/infrastructure and analytical data to get in a bout with facebook for rights to the Social media Throne.

What do you know about cloud computing? Google server count makes facebook look like a calculator. And as for Privacy it's facebook who has theirs knees deep in legal complaints of the handling of people's private info, not google.

Google has had a head start in data mining waaay before FB even thought about being a social platform. Manipulating that data for usefulness on their platform will soon be revealed.

In the end, the Big G will have the last laugh and remember the companies that follow after with their spin off's have a major advantage over current, because all they have to do is create a similiar platform minus the features that piss people off currrentlty with facebook and BOOM! Walmart is the only store that stayed loyal to me..

1. Myspace is about money now. Then can care less about user experience

2. Yes they sell user data

3. yes, millions of accounts are inactive or simply people who re register.

I remember when ebay would tell it stock holders that they had a increase in new signups..like 30% of what ever..

What they didnt know that mostly all of them were resigns from sellers or buyers who had been banned or suspended when Ebay went on there rampage.

Personally i think Ebay did it on purpose to get new signs on paper to make them look good to investors..

Stealing people's wifi connection? Do you have the full story? The only way peoples information can be stolen is because they have un-protected wifi routers which I see all the time, they unbox their new router and "Plug and Play" away without setting up any protection.

Walmart is one of the reasons why our economy sucks, when they pop one of these mega stores up in the neighborhood they kill all business for mom and pop stores, (YOU AND ME) the customer service people have attitudes and they import hella items from China and various sweat shops (with no sanitation workers have no rest room) onto the shelves at low prices thus increasing the bottom line for chinese product makers and the US companies continue to struggle.

So when you purchase goods from their thinking your saving a bunch your actually strangling the economy more. I rarely shop their only under extreme situations (Baby Diapers,Milk)

I personally don't like social networking sites, I mean it's cool to have a place where you can always contact your friends and family no matter how far away you are but is Facebook really such a place? Most people add people just to have as many people as they can, it's like a competition "Who has more friends?" and the funny thing is that most of the people that are added as friends are actually not real friends.

I don't know what will happen in the future maybe there will be a new Facebook or maybe people will just stop using social networking sites but if there will be another big one then their will most likely be some sort of a wave where people every now and then decide to move from one social network to the next one making this whole thing a big trend.
