How long should a promo video be for a website?

Hey guys,

I’m working on a website right now and planning to add a promo / explainer video to the homepage.
I keep seeing different opinions everywhere. Some people say short videos convert better, others say you need more time to explain things properly and build trust.
So I’m curious about real experience here.
From what you’ve tested:

• What video length worked best for you?
• 15–20 seconds?
• Around 30 seconds?
• Or closer to 60 seconds?

Main goal is:

• Keep visitors engaged
• Explain the idea fast
• Increase conversions on the landing page
• Traffic will mostly be cold traffic, first-time visitors.

Would really appreciate hearing what actually worked for you, not just theory.
