So, Super Bowl Sunday is not about the game.
It's about the food and the commercials.
Our menu:
Cheese steaks:
Red peppers as they are best for this.
Vidalia onions.
Top round sliced thin and chopped on the grill as it cooks.
Provolone cheese.
Montreal steak seasoning lightly added.
Salt and pepper lightly added.
Hollowed out 6 inch kaiser rolls.
Once prepared, cut the rolls in half so you and your guests can have 1 1/2 instead of 2 as 2 is a bunch for most people and have some Boars Head dill pickle spears on the side.
Simple recipe Cole Slaw:
Thinly cut cabbage.
Carrots cut using a grater.
Salt and pepper.
Cole slaw dressing (store-bought).
Sweet potato fries:
I cook them in an air fryer so we are not eating fast-food fries.
Cut them up very thin.
Soak in water for about 20 - 30 minutes to remove the starch.
Dry them off and put them in a bowl.
Add a little avocado oil, salt, pepper, and a hint of paprika and garlic powder.
A salad with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, chopped sweet pickles, crushed croutons, feta cheese, chopped ham, and a fair amount of pepper.
We'll have a choice of ranch, thousand island, Russian dressing, and balsamic for our guests to choose from, so they can add that on their own.
I'll also make some rueban sliders for those who prefer that over the cheese steaks.
Hawaiian rolls.
Super thinly cut corn beef.
Swiss cheese.
Sauerkraut.
Russian dressing
Beverages:
Seltzer water.
Bottled water.
Beer.
Vitamin water.
Coca Cola.
Root Beer (A&W of course).
Sprite.
We set up a table in the kitchen with the spread laid out and go by "Winter Rules", serve yourself.
Everything will be served on disposable dishes, bowls, and cups.
Clean up for 9 people is a bit much at the end of the night, so I ignore the environmental impact.
The silverware is Babmoo cutlery and reusable, so it does not get tossed. You can buy that on Amazon for about 20.00 if I remember correctly.
