How are you guys choosing keywords in 2026 as AI answers and GEO are becoming more dominant? I’ve been testing different keyword types lately

Here few types works for me
  • Conversational keywords
  • Long tail keywords
  • Question based keywords
  • Branded keywords
  • Local / geo-specific keywords
For me, conversational, branded and question based keyword gives better visibility than others.

any other methods you guys have tried, curious to hear what’s working for you guys in 2026

Long tail keywords you should never target. You will rank automatically for them when you write good content on high volume keywords.

these days I mostly focus on keywords that actually show user intent, not just search volume. stuff like comparisons, “best for” queries, or questions people ask in real life tends to perform better. I still use branded, conversational, and geo specific keywords, but combining them with real world intent usually brings better traffic and engagement.
