I've been buying backlinks over the course of this year at $500-$600 per month. The backlinks were high-quality and helped me rank for my target keywords. But the quality of the backlinks has been steadily dropping. While before I had 7 30+ Dr links for that price, in my last order I got just one, and the seller refused to make it right. Is this standard practice for backlinks sellers to reduce the quality of the backlinks they provide to customers? And are there any reputable backlinks providers that you can recommend?

Got any to recommend? This one had really high ratings.

Many link sellers do this over time, so relying less on paid links is usually safer.

So why doesn't some link builder just have a strategy to build a stable long-term relationship over time by providing consistent results?

The bait-and-switch tactic with backlinks is one of the riskiest and most condemned Black Hat SEO practices. It involves creating a page with exceptional content, such as unique research or a free tool, with the sole purpose of getting other sites to link to it. Once these valuable backlinks have been acquired, the page's content is changed to something promotional, low-quality, or that redirects elsewhere. This is considered deceptive to both users and webmasters who linked to the site in good faith.

While it might have worked for a while in the past, today's algorithms are much smarter. Google doesn't just crawl once; it periodically re-evaluates pages. If it detects a drastic change in content while the URL maintains the same inbound links, it's a huge red flag. Most likely, that page, and sometimes the entire site, will be heavily penalized, losing all organic ranking. Recovering from this is very difficult because you've destroyed the trust built with the very link base you acquired.

The right and sustainable approach is the exact opposite: create valuable content that lasts. A good resource attracts links naturally and continuously over time, becoming a permanent asset for your site. Replacing it with something poor is killing the goose that lays the golden eggs for a minuscule immediate gain. In SEO, honesty and consistent quality remain the only winning long-term strategy.

Either bot or very low IQ human. Buying backlinks has delivered exceptional results for me.

So how do you know if the other sellers won't deliberately reduce their results over time?

You should cheak out their rating To check how other People Have experienced their SEO Service done by that seller.

There are Link builders who have Strategies to build long-term relationships while providing consistent results. Unfortunately, it was a misfortune that your previous seller dropped in quality over the long term.

Anyone you'd recommend?

Really depends on the seller. I would diversify and find maybe 2 or 3 different sellers and split your money between them to protect from something like that happening again on that scale.

You should talk with the seller & if he doesn't provide the quality you need even by paying a decent amount ( worth those links ), you should try another seller.

I kind of feel bad, because the results up to that point had been exceptional and I rank first for all my local keywords. The seller just refuses to make my last order right. Now I have to take a chance with another seller and risk getting a bunch of junk. Has anyone used Sakarseo? That's who I'm considering. My last seller was mangoodi.

There are sellers here on BHW that can offer you a better service with results based on the amount you are investing every month.

Good point transparency and quality matter more than just claiming backlinks on paper.

Yes this bait and switch drop in link quality is very common with backlink sellers and there are no truly “reputable” link vendors who can reliably sell high quality links at scale real sustainable links come from manual outreach and content not monthly packages.

Yes it’s unfortunately common for some backlink sellers to lower quality over time rather than guarantee consistent metrics, so always check samples and reviews first, and consider reputable providers, that focus on transparent, quality placements.
