Backlinks bait and switch?

Yeah this happens a lot. Sellers usually start strong, then quality drops once their good inventory is gone. DR numbers get abused hard, so you end up paying the same but getting weaker links. I wouldn’t trust anyone who won’t show real samples upfront. Better to work with smaller vendors or individuals who do manual placements and care about relevance and traffic, not just metrics. If they refuse to make it right, that’s usually your sign to move on.

It's very common in the backlink marketplace for lower-tier or cheap sellers. But you must vet them carefully, prioritize transparency, authority, and relevance, and check live placements and metrics first.

Anyone you'd recommend?
People aren't going to recommend here anyone because in case the seller that we recommended didn't provide what you wanted. The person who recommended also gets dragged in the dispute.
However the best thing to choose a seller is to ask the seller to send you sample reports of the work that he will provide. Check and approve the backlinks yourself.
Since you are paying around 500-600 no seller will want to lose you as a client.

That is definitely not normal or fair practice at all! Find a different seller who doesn't try to screw you over like that.

That drop in quality does happen when sellers rely on easy sources or resold links instead of owned, relevant placements. A good provider should maintain consistency or offer replacements when quality drops — not refuse.

For casino niches especially, focus on relevant, real-traffic placements and ask for traffic proof before buying. Quality over quantity matters a lot more now than just DR numbers.

Definitely, consistent quality matters most. It’s better to work with sellers who are transparent and focus on long-term results rather than just volume.

Yes, many backlink sellers degrade over time, weakening previously good sites or using the same resources over and over again. It's not safe to recommend a specific reputable seller; instead, focus on relevant guest posts, outreach, good content, and regular backlink audits.
