Hello, I need help regarding indexing of my website homepage.

When I search using this term info:domain.com my website homepage not showing in google search, instead of this privacy policy page showing up. Can you help me out.

When I search site:domain.com posts are showing on google search. My website is not getting any traffic from Google searches.

Not a new website, yes submitted sitemap, yes I understand basic seo, yes proper

It seems Google picked the wrong page to rank, so your homepage needs a little SEO check to show up again.

If info:domain.com shows your privacy policy instead of your homepage, it usually means Google has not indexed your homepage correctly. Check that your homepage is not set to no index, blocked in robots.txt, or using the wrong canonical tag. Make sure it is included in your sitemap and request indexing in Search Console. After Google crawls it again, your homepage should start showing up normally.

Please check if your website already has a complete sitemap. If it does, submit it manually in Google Search Console. Additionally, after publishing each new article, you should also manually submit that article’s URL in Google Search Console so Google can index it faster.

<meta name="robots" content="follow, index, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1, max-image-preview:large"/> canonical tag is also correct.

There seems to be issue with your homepage, and it's not indexed correctly, so a similar page was chosen.

Check up with your homepage technical SEO, fix things, and try to boost your homepage SEO, resubmit your sitemap, and things should get corrected.

Its very common issues. Google thinks your privacy page is main page. Check GSC URL Inspection for homepage: fix noindex/robots.txt/canonical issues, request indexing. Add strong internal links from posts/logo/menu to homepage. Improve homepage with unique content + primary keywords. Resubmit sitemap. It should work.

Your homepage likely has a 'noindex' tag or canonical error. In Search Console, use "URL Inspection" on your homepage to check its indexing status and ensure it's not blocked by robots.txt or a noindex directive. Fix any errors found.

No noindex tag and canonical error.

I checked,
Crawl allowed
Page fetch sucessful
Indexing allowed yes

This indicates a low-priority or canonicalization issue. Ensure your homepage has the strongest internal links and is the primary target in your sitemap. Use the "URL Inspection" tool to request indexing again after confirming this.

Sometimes google thinks that your home page is not important enough for that particular search which you are targeting. Either this or your web home page is not unique enough design wise. It might be similar to some others in your niche. This is just my speculation.

Or Your website got reported for dmca. Mail from GSC might arrive 2-3 days late. It happens with me too.

Have you done backlinking of your website?

My suggestion is to check if those backlinks are even indexed in google. If not try building social network profiles of your business, mention your website there.
Then build top web 2.0 blogs like wordpress blogspot etc. make sure they get indexed. This way you will provide some signals to google that you have a website and it is being mentioned around the internet.

Check your homepage meta tags, make sure its indexable and add clear internal links from posts. Submitting a sitemap and requesting indexing in google search console can help.
