Not necessarily a bad thing in the long run. If we actually want mainstream adoption to continue these things are part of the deal. The effect of crypto becoming more mainstream unfortunately. Governments want to know who's attached to the wallets.
where have you heard that ?Cryptomus says they sold their business to Heleket org which pretty much has 1:1 copy of the system and API, so I moved all my business there
I am currently facing this situation, did you succeed in sending the funds? Or is the funds still blocked?I got scammed using Heleket for $200 USD. They blocked the payment citing "aml" and asking to prove funds origin. After providing the info, they are not releasing the funds nor returning it back, in the end deleted their Telegram chat. They have no company details in their website provided, and after mentioning this fact, they said "will provide in 1 week" and never did. It's not shady - it's a SCAM.

I will share it with you because it has been resolved. After the transaction was blocked, I contacted them to explain the flow of funds, did kyc, and received a refund a few days later. I didn't feel like it until I got a refund, but I'm glad they eventually returned the money to me.I am currently facing this situation, did you succeed in sending the funds? what are our alternatives??I have been using Cryptomus to accept payments from my site and also as a personal wallet to accept payments from clients manually.
I chose it because it allows free cross-chain transfers. Exchanges have that feature as well but then you have to do KYC and deal with insane taxes, especially if you're from India (flat 30% with no deductions).
I checked today, and now Cryptomus requires KYC as well. Previously, they required it for P2P and trading only. I confirmed with my account manager, and now Cryptomus requires KYC for these things as well:
I mean, what's the point of this? We are just using their platform like a wallet basically. So disappointed with this change and I will have to start looking for alternatives.
- Receiving funds
- Withdrawing funds
- Creating a merchant
Same here - comleted KYC long time ago and couple days ago reset my KYC and I also can't pass it almost half of the world countries they don't accept right now and yes same thing “we have submitted a withdrawal request.” And now Need to wait up to 20 bussiness days to get my money backI’ve been using this service normally for 3 years. My KYC was completed long ago, no issues. Even when they started talking about “country restrictions,” they themselves were saying something like: if you’re already verified, you can keep using the service. Fine — I trusted that.
At some point they suddenly required re-KYC. I opened the verification flow and saw that my country is simply not in the list. Meaning re-KYC is literally impossible to complete. And guess what? Access to the wallet/withdrawals — gone. Your funds are stuck, and you’re left dealing with “support.”
After that, instead of providing a clear solution, support started asking me for:
The most infuriating part: they don’t say “we will process your withdrawal.” They write something like “we have submitted a withdrawal request.”
- details of my latest transactions,
- a USDT wallet address (because “we can only return USDT”),
- and the overall tone is basically: “we’ll consider the possibility of returning your funds.”
A request to whom? Where? To the universe? That’s not a commitment. That’s just paperwork.
Bottom line: this is not a wallet — it’s a trap. Today it “works,” tomorrow they put you in a situation you cannot possibly comply with, and you lose access to your own money exactly when you need it (servers, services, bills — whatever).
And one more “bonus”: if your balance isn’t in USDT, they can say “we’ll return only USDT,” which means you may also lose money on conversion/spread/fees, while the service profits from the conversion. Nice.
My conclusion is simple and harsh: don’t keep funds there. Because at any moment they can lock you out, and then it’s “send more documents, we’ll consider it, we submitted a request,” etc.
I don't see there cryptomus serviceJust use no kyc service instead https://kycnot.me/?categories=exchange
It is better for privacy and maybe even for financial freedom.
Where did I say I was using it for accepting payments? This would not have happened if you had used a non-custodial service to accept payments.
Yeah a lot of platforms are moving this way because of compliance pressure. Once regulators get involved, KYC usually becomes unavoidable.I mean, what's the point of this?
