Hello all,

I believe you have seen the competition that is happening in freelance platforms...it's a jungle out there!!

In Fiverr most of my messages are people trying to scam, and UpWork it's just too greedy to sell you connects.

What are you currently using? How are you getting clients? And what do you think would be the best option for 2026? Also what industry are you? I am a web developer.

What's the fiverr minimum site price right now? It was 40$. So you are competing with expert web developers for 40$. You gotta try some other skillset some other niche with low competition and enough demand.
Or build sites for yourself and do blogging cpa affliate marketing selling backlinks. Something where you can utilize your web development skills and make money.

Honestly, I really tired of Fiverr creating a gig since June without collecting order..
But I heard from my friend that if you want to make money on Fiverr now you need to buy reviews for your profile.. at least 5 reviews

Don't. It doesn't help.

To OP, There is no best platform. You have to create it yourself. You will NOT get any clients by just posting a gig.

Create detailed portfolio of your work, eye catching screenshots. A real clear image of your face/half body is an absolute must. Because people want to hire other people not a logo.

Create uncommon but useful things, then showcase and explain what it does. You don't need to reveal any code. Then go out and publish it everywhere you can. You must use keywords and hashtags so people who are looking for this exact thing will find you. Email, social media, web design platforms, blogs leave no place unconquered. Go everywhere and mark your territory. Be consistent in marketing yourself.

Contact your local businesses and serve them. Even if it pays low, you will get more work than online. Create a framework to quickly deliver similar jobs, so you can do more. Save some money then use it for advertising. Contact local business Facebook group admins and tell your story, show them your work and ask for a shout-out. Bribe them a little in exchange for a shout-out if necessary.

Get busy.

All the freelancer sites are filled with a lot of extra freelancers and there is huge competition in every niche and category. Only getting clients based on personal referral now.

I think upwork is best for freelancer platform. I am using upwork.

There is no single best freelancing platform for 2026. Every platform has strong competition now. Upwork is good for long term and serious projects, but bidding can be costly. Fiverr is easier to start, but pricing pressure is high. In the end, success depends more on skills, consistency, and client communication than the platform itself.
