Hey folks

I’ve got a question for all the bloggers and content grinders here.
When you were just getting started — before using any AI tools — how long did it usually take you to write a single blog post from scratch?

I mean the whole process: researching, outlining, writing, editing… Did it take you a few hours? Half a day? Or maybe even a couple of days to get something polished enough to publish?

I’m currently working on improving my manual writing speed and setting realistic goals for myself, so I’d love to hear how long it took for you guys back in your early days.

I am constantly challenged by the need to balance content quality and work efficiency.

Honestly, my first blog post (without any AI help) took me around 4–5 hours. Most of that time went into researching and trying to make it sound natural instead of robotic. Once I got used to creating outlines and sticking to a structure (intro → main points → conclusion), the process got way faster. My advice: don’t worry about speed at first focus on clarity and flow. Quality writing habits build up over time.

When I first started, writing one blog post usually took me 4–6 hours, including research, outlining, and editing longer if it was an in depth or SEO heavy piece.

Back then it took me around a full day for one solid post, research, outline, and edits included. Once you get used to it, you can cut that down to a few hours.

Back when I started, it usually took me around 5–8 hours to finish one blog post — that included researching, outlining, writing, and editing. Sometimes longer if it was a detailed topic. Once I got into a rhythm, I could get it done in a day comfortably.

When I first started, a single blog post usually took me a full day—research, outline, writing, and edits. Some shorter posts were done in a few hours, but anything detailed could easily stretch into a day or two.

Back when I (and many others I’ve talked to) were doing it all by hand no AI help, no automated tools the timeline looked something like this

When I started out, writing one blog post took nearly a full day from research to final edits. It was slow but helped me build strong writing discipline and SEO understanding.

When I started, one blog post took about 4–6 hours with research and editing, but with practice, it gets much faster.

It usually took me about 1–2 days to write a full blog post from scratch, including research, writing, and editing.

It can vary, but usually it takes 1–2 days.
I once made a travel content piece that took more than a week.

For me it used to take a whole day, half for research and the rest just fixing and rewriting.

2 hour . Now I can write 500 words in half an hour.

It took me around 2–3 hours to write my first blog post without AI. It depends on your effort and the quality of your blog.

I started writing on Medium when I was 14 y/o my first blog was about a book I read, it took me around 2 days with 1 to 3 hours each day to complete it. That blog got 1 comment. Please don't wait to get something as 'Polished', the longer you spend staring at it the more you would find yourself changing or editing it to make it more polished. You get better with practice.

It should never consume more than a day.. These days profit from blogging is also very limited, so there is no point in spending lot of time writing each post.

It's usual to take a few hours or even a whole day to write a good blog post when you're just starting out. Don't worry about it; everyone moves at their own rate. The most important thing is to make a system: do your research first, make a clear framework, and then write in small pieces. Your speed will naturally become better with practice. Make sure that quality comes first; speed comes later.
