Reddit cracking down on upvote services

Recently Reddit has been cracking down on upvote services. Some services have completely disappeared, some have not been working and others became really unreliable.

It seems like theyre doing something big now

Any thoughts on this? Is the upvote service era over or will it live on forever

Been this way for a good amount of time, upvotes either dropping or straight up getting your account shadowbanned, especially when using SMM panels.

I still hope that most panel owners will be able to adapt. Because working for Reddit, we've endured countless ban waves and somehow always survived.

IMO, most will die and those that have adapted will raise their price so high to be profitable that people wont find it interesting anymore. And maybe even the ones that have adapted will die because of not enough people using it

I do think there will always be some type of vote manipulation though since reddit relies on that to rank posts

They intend to set a bar to entry into manipulating their platform until they stomp out the services that are trying to do it. In the end it will be like buying links from link farms, doesn’t work. You’ll have to invest the time and effort and expense yourself if you want to try to manipulate your own upvotes. Then they will catch and kill your accounts as well just like they did the sellers of the services.

If they allow people to do this the website is not credible in the eyes of investors and search engines. They have tons of money to put a stop to it and they are doing a good job. Yes it’s going to become very difficult even for the person with their own accounts.

My post disappeared after it

It looks like some reddit accounts can be very toxic.

Reddit is known for banning real users thinking they are bots. Happens all the time. Appeals in those cases are usually granted, but they still happen a ton

I don’t know because I don’t care about it enough to find the footprints in a service like that. But I can guarantee they have a reliable algorithm that can detect this kind of manipulative behavior from accounts.

If it was me developing it I would add a cooldown period on accounts that have fallen into a questionable status but not confirmed manipulative, and that may or may not be manipulating upvotes or other services. So during cooldown votes are shadow banned. If the behavior that got the account in questionable status continues during cooldown it either remains shadow banned or is banned . They get so many sign up’s everyday it’s easy to say fck your account when or if they are wrong.

If you are getting caught by algorithm that detects manipulative behavior then you’re doing something wrong in the first place that is not statistically considered normal user behavior. They have plenty of years of statistical data for what is statistically normal. And I bet statistics is what the algorithm is based on.

From times to times, Reddit is just wrong, without any reason. 2 days ago I couldn't accessed the site because it simply blocked my access (fortunately, I wasn't logged into any account, and accessed a general information from a new mobile device). I had to rotate the IP (real sim) and tried to access from another browser. In that context, I was like a genuine user who wants to access their data, but couldn't do it because their AI filters.

Well, its time to separate the big boys from the incompetent ones with shitty scripts and no substance and the whole reseller ecosystem. Same happened to tiktok followers and all.

Soooo whats bad?

This community, it has it in its freaky name, should not be copying other peoples ideas and be resellers, it should be the trendsetters, the folks who come up with new solutions.

Do not think that Reddit , Google and so a dumb, they employ thousand, ten of thousands engineeers and devs. Gotta be creative.

So what is the problem here, nobody has the ability to create and launch an array of profiles via anti detect , even submit posts and do targeted upvoting?

Is this where we at? This would take me perhaps 5 days of serious work and the thing would be ready to deploy and Reddit would never be the wiser and detect that.

Yeah I think they turned a blind eye a bit because it brought in more "users" but now theyre forced like you said to take action
