Hey
I’m curious to know how the pros here approach local SEO in 2025. What are the best tactics to dominate local search results-like Google Maps, GMB, and local citations? Any proven blackhat or greyhat tricks that still work for ranking faster?

completely fill out the GBP account, and include the most relevant keywords in it!
next, this is a weekly posting

Thought so, reviews really important. Have anyone got success with buying reviews and does google drop them?
I have tried with few of my alt accounts but they dont seem to stick.

Citations, reviews, optimise GBP. Their mostly the main factors I noticed that move the needle a lot

I have done citations all apart from reviews and it didn't move the needle for me. :( but thanks for your insight.

Mainly for a new profile or one without citations already. You prob had citations already if it didn't really move the rankings up much. Another good thing is stacking GBP embeds on web2.0's if you haven't tried that yet. Make sure to index all your citiations and crawl all your web2.0 embeds.

Thanks didn't thought of embeding map on web2.0 thanks. I'll try that.

Google is really cracking down hard on fake reviews nowadays. Its hard to find a reliable supplier, you see a lot of people providing this service but most of the reviews they provide drops after a few weeks

solid guide. local SEO now demands a full Google Business Profile, real reviews, clear service + city mention in your content and links from local websites. citations still help but reviews and local-relevant backlinks are the real engine these days.

Good question !! local SEO in 2025 still comes down to a solid foundation plus layered link velocity. Here's what's been working consistently for my clients:

I build cloud stacks first (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to create initial backlink power without leaving footprints. Then layer in Google Stacks as branded foundational assets, these carry serious trust signals when done right.

For the GBP itself, I keep it active with regular posts and fresh media uploads. Google rewards engagement, and I've seen profiles jump 2-3 pack positions just from consistent weekly posting. I also run automated review outreach through Google Sheets connected to email/SMS campaigns.. works great for volume without manually chasing every customer.

I push out a press release quarterly to maintain brand authority and get indexed citations from news sites. It's not flashy, but it compounds over time.

The real trick is using Web 2.0s as cushion layers. I point PBNs and GSA-type automated links at these properties first, then have the Web 2.0s link to the money site and GBP. Keeps the risk profile lower and I haven't had a suspension in 18+ months using this buffer approach.

One thing I've noticed lately, GBPs with solid cloud stack foundations seem to recover faster after algorithm shifts. Saw this firsthand with a dental client in Bangalore who dropped after the August update but bounced back within 3 weeks because the off-page structure held strong.
