Nobody wants to make a very valuable site, let AI scrape everything and then be glad it gets citations in these aggregators and pray that more than 1 in 250 users will view (click) the actual source (or even less than that).

It will reach a boiling point in which a collective measure will be taken, from top to bottom or the other way around. At the moment, citations are a joke, they are making every effort to NOT send traffic to anyone.


A ban on AI scrappers and chatbots will not be sustainable for the aggregators (LLMs) especially when it comes to fresh data - as all the old data has been already taken (pretty much stolen).

Or so I wish it will happen Otherwise, a very few people will be soo happy to get citations in AI overviews or other outputs, be happy with receiving a ton less traffic than they deserve and we will all move to other businesses. And the web will die.
