My name is Pedro, I’m 29 years old, and ever since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of becoming a banker. I grew up watching financial movies like Wall Street, The Big Short, Too Big to Fail, and later shows like Billions on Netflix. I dreamed of having a big office like that, leading a financial empire as the CEO of a major bank or a brokerage firm.
And now, that dream might finally be turning into reality.
Let me tell you how I’m building an empire with a few strong connections, no university degree, and without millions sitting in the bank. Maybe this thread can inspire someone out there to start, even with little.

About Me
I’m Brazilian, so Portuguese is my native language. I also speak English and Spanish, and I’m currently learning Russian. I never went to college and barely finished high school.
But I’ve been working online since I was a teenager, mainly in internet marketing and Forex brokerages. I worked as an Introducing Broker for several firms and even ran an IT company. I’ve failed many times, but I’ve also made good money online.
I’ve never had a 9-to-5 job in my life.
Now, let’s skip the fluff and go straight to the plan.

Phase 1: Cross-Border Payment Gateway
I hired a team of developers to create my own cross-border payment gateway, specialized in high-risk industries (casinos and Forex brokerages) where we are launching it in the next week.
I already have strong connections with local banks and PSPs around the world for processing PIX in Brazil, Nequi in Colombia, SPEI in Mexico, and many more coming soon.

The idea is simple:
Allow businesses like casinos, anywhere in the world, to accept payments and receive funds from Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico in the beginning.
My initial goal is to process $1M to $3M/day through the gateway and generate $10k–$30k/day in profit within the next few months.
For this, I’ve already hired a marketing agency to handle social media, I have a development team, and I’m bringing in business developers. I believe that with a maximum of 200 clients, I can hit that goal.

Phase 2: My Own Offshore Bank
Once the payment gateway reaches a consistent $300k to $900k/month in profits, I’ll move to Phase 2: launching my own offshore bank.
This bank will:
Offer CFD accounts
Issue debit/credit cards
Be a crypto-friendly neobank
Cater especially to entrepreneurs in high-risk industries
This has been my ultimate dream since childhood, and I believe it’s possible within one year.
I’ll update this thread regularly with real numbers, progress, wins, and lessons.
Thanks for reading and if you’re on a similar path, let’s connect.

Good luck brother! that's a risky industry. make sure to have your safety nets if things do not work as planned.

Your story proves it doesn’t take a degree to play in the big leagues

Did you get the related licenses for running a payment gateway for cross border payments?

And phase 2 normally have minimum capital requirements normally in 10-20Mn local currency plus for sure minimum even small finance companies need like 100-200Mn local currency capital balance maintainance requirement to remain licensed

Hello, I’m Moe, a 33-year-old single mom.
I’m not exactly sure what you’re aiming for, but I also love The Big Short!
Since my English isn’t great, I had to watch it four times before I finally understood the story.
If something big like the COVID crash happens again, maybe there will be another chance!
Good luck!

The payment gateway is being handled by my legal team. We use a kind of sub-license model because we integrate with many payment methods worldwide, so we rely on their licenses since they are the ones actually processing the payments. Our role is simply to connect all of them in one place. As for the bank, it would be a white-label offshore bank, which you can start with around 200k USD or even less if you want.

I finally launched my payment gateway. We ran some tests, and everything is working well. Today I secured my first client a friend who owns an online casino. He has already started integrating our API and is ready to go live. I also have strong business developers who have scheduled a meeting next week with two Forex brokerages that may integrate with my gateway. Another friend also owns a Forex brokerage and is speaking with one of their partners about integrating with us. In addition, I appointed someone as a manager to provide support for all clients. Each client will receive individual support via WhatsApp and Telegram.

That's a fantastic start. Looks like your connections are giving you the much-required initial momentum. Good luck!

For a business of this kind, you should definitely look into making a ticket system or in-house support platform rather than relying on whatsapp and telegram.

Good luck!

The banking system as a whole will crash pretty soon.

Exactly mate,

Sub licensing is a good way to start but you don't really have much control since the gateway you are licensing from and the banks that have signed agreement with that main gateway can at any time decline payments, refund payments to customers, claim charges/fees etc and you would have to side with them to remain sub licensee which means u can lose customers and face more competition against other sublincesee's since your pricing wise you can't offer anything better than main gateway
So if you can develop unique offerings via code to your setup maybe features like escrow payments, auto debit/credit customer cards, recurring payments on free commission only plans then u have a shot at being highly profitable
