Double Redirect and Cloak. Will this completely hide the referral URL?

Hi guys!

I was thinking about ways to completely hide where your traffic is coming from a curious affiliate manager for example. If I send my traffic to something like mydomain.com/cloak than use meta redirect to mydomain2.com/redirect where the 2nd domain is using a permanent 301 redirect to an CPA Offer for example will this work? Will this make it truly impossible for the CPA program to view my traffic source or I'm getting really paranoid about this?

just to explain a little bit more mydomain2.com would be a legit landing page for whatever your offering (whether it be ringtone, toolbars, ect) and every every link on that page would go to mydomain2.com/redirect so if the affiliate manager decides to look at the root domain they would see something legit but that wouldn't be where your getting your real traffic from

Why not just set it up so it ends up at a domain you own and then check the stats to see if the referer shows up? Simple.

You can just do the double meta refresh and your referrer will be your site. So have yourdomain.com/1.php redirect to yourdomain.com/2.php which would be a php redirect to your affiliate link. Your visitor will still see the affiliate link in the end I believe so if you're looking to mask that as well you basically have to stuff the cookie and load the main offer page.

Just do the method like mentioned above and they wont see the referrer. They would need access to your logs for domain.com to see the real referrer info.

Err, I misunderstood what survivalist was asking in his first post. He was trying to hide his referer from the affiliate managers. What I was asking was something different. Guess ill have to make my own thread so i don't hijack this one.

genjutsu has some very good meta-refresh code search for tinyurl hiding referrer. The code actually verifies that referrer is blanked so you know 100% you cant get screwed. Sorry I dont have the link in front of me.
