Hello, I would like to ask those who are currently involved in this. I was thinking of creating my own bot that would buy meme crypto tokens in the first few seconds after they appear and then sell them after a while (a couple of seconds, etc.) when they grow in value. I haven't seen many people doing this, so I wanted to ask you if it's profitable. Maybe someone already has experience with this? Thank you.

There is no money to me made. There is so much manipulation already happening .

Building a bot for quick buys and sells on meme tokens can be profitable but it’s extremely risky hese tokens are highly volatile and often manipulated. Success depends on fast execution, solid tech, and deep market knowledge. Many try but few consistently win, and losses can be big. Proceed carefully and never risk more than you can afford to lose.

What do you mean? Can you tell me more please

Thank you for your reply. Yes, many people I asked said that there are a lot of scam tokens and manipulations, but I still don't understand. If I want to sell a token after a couple of seconds, a minute at most, will I have time to sell it before the token goes bankrupt, or not? Like, I buy it, and as soon as it goes up even a little bit, I sell it.

Honestly, it’s a tough game. Even if you plan to sell seconds after buying, the market moves so fast and liquidity is often terrible. Sometimes you won’t be able to sell quickly without losing money. It’s more luck and speed than a sure thing so be really careful if you jump in.

Do you mean on the token? That is, you bought the token and sold it a minute later? Because that's what I want to do.
The trading world, whether it be Crypto, Commodities or stocks, are run by those that have deep pockets, drive big cars and smoke cigars.

We get lucky now and then when we get involved but they drive the train, and we are just lucky to get a seat in the caboose.

Would have worked 1,5 years ago on PF

This strategy is possible but extremely risky - the meme-coin market is highly volatile and manipulated. To succeed, you need fast tech and deep market insight, but most lose money. Start small and never risk more than you can afford to lose.

That idea sounds interesting but it’s also very risky since meme tokens can be unpredictable if you try, start small test carefully and focus on proper risk management before investing bigger.

I suggest doing this on the premise that you can find some conditions to filter out those scam coins. The meme market has new tokens every minute, and most of them rug in a few minutes or even less than a minute. I hope you understand what I mean.

Creating a bot to quickly buy and sell meme tokens sounds promising, but it’s a tough game. The market moves fast, and many bots are already doing this, driving up competition. High transaction fees and price volatility can wipe out profits fast. If you want to pursue it, expect a steep learning curve and don’t risk more than you can afford to lose. It’s risky and not an easy payday.

Simple advice. Don't do it, the meme coin market and crypto in general is highly manipulated and is getting worse everyday, I did this last year, tried it and got burnt, so don't do it, meme coins are not what it used to be.

Its a suicide mission bro, trust me, been there, done that. The only sure fire way to bank is to own the coin yourself, but then, how cool is it to rugpull everyone else? not cool to me.

I first came to know about memecoin trading from this forum, maybe around a year to a year and a half ago. Someone had shared a detailed post about how he turned 2 SOL into 45 SOL in just two weeks. The post also explained the basics of trading memecoins and how to filter tokens to avoid scams.

That caught my attention. I bought some SOL and jumped straight into trading without really knowing much. The result was obvious — I started losing money from the very beginning. Luckily, I only used around $5 per trade, so the losses were small.

Days went by, and while I kept losing, I was also learning. At some point, I decided to stop trading blindly and instead use my programming skills to build something useful.

First I built a Solana DEX trading bot for myself. It took me quite a long time because I was completely new to crypto, especially DEX trading. At first, I created a simple DEX caller bot that checked sites like Dexscreener or Axiom using filters I gave it. If the conditions matched, it sent the token address to my private Telegram group so I could track its performance.

I also used Phanes to monitor the tokens I got from my bot. Every day I was receiving over 100+ token calls since the bot was running 24/7 on my server. The hit rate stayed consistent at 40%+ (hit rate meaning the token at least doubled after being first called). I saw tokens go 400x from my bot’s calls, and there were days when at least one token went 100x.

But I didn’t take any manual action to buy those tokens at the time. I had already lost a decent amount of money trying to trade memecoins here and there, and I realized I was terrible at trading. I never trusted the tokens I bought, so I usually sold too early.

For example, once I was tracking whale activity. I noticed a certain pattern: whales would buy a type of token, the price would drop around 80% over 16–17 hours, and then there would be a massive rebound. I tried following this pattern. I bought a token, and within an hour it dropped 50%. I bought again because I was convinced it would bounce back. But after 7 hours, it dropped 70%, and I panicked and sold everything.

Later, I shared that token in my trading group. About 10 hours after I sold, one of the group members congratulated me because the token had pumped 87x. He thought I made money since I shared it, but in reality, I sold for a loss. That was the moment I decided I shouldn’t trade manually anymore.

I knew emotions were my biggest weakness, so I focused completely on developing a trading bot. I wrote it in Python first. The bot performed great — transactions took less than 0.30 seconds. I added patterns I saw from Phanes calls, like buying fresh tokens or tokens that hit certain market caps.

To make it work properly, I had to buy a premium RPC and use Solana Tracker’s API for price, liquidity, and market cap. That alone cost me $49/month, plus around $8 for the server. In total, I was spending nearly $100/month while testing and running the bot.

When I made it live and tested 4–5 times, it worked, but it wasn’t perfect. The biggest problem was memecoin volatility. The bot had to handle sudden spikes (wicks). If you ignored the spike, you’d miss a sell opportunity. But if you sold at the spike, you risked getting caught in a fake wave. That was the hardest challenge.

And honestly, the market kept getting worse. The good period I talked about was about a year ago, but the last 4–5 months were much rougher. So I stopped the bot and let it “sleep” until the market turns green again. My hope is that if things recover, I can run it for a few months and see real results.

Later, I rewrote my bot in Rust for better speed and performance since Rust is native to Solana. Right now, I’m just waiting and hoping for better market conditions.

Hope is tricky — it doesn’t let go easily. I’m not an expert, but I tried my best.

I built a javascript sniper bot and have some experience. If you can afford fast servers and are willing to pay a large enough validator tip (JITO etc) so your tx is included in the next block, you stand a much better chance of getting in and out of the trade before the shit hits the fan assuming the token hasn’t already been manipulated in some way. You can also filter out the obvious rogue tokens before you buy them with good filters and token meta data checks in your code.

I ran the bot on a $7 Digital Ocean droplet and used a $49/mo Helius rpc node. My quickest purchase was 4 seconds after a token was created, and another time after 1 second of a token migration event (using a free rpc node). You also need to check the token prices at least every second (so your bot knows if and when to sell them). If your bot relies on free APIs for this (say 1 request per second limit) then your all powerful bot becomes restricted to this and by the time your sell tx has made it to the next available block the price may have shifted drastically (due to solana being so volatile) or the token may have rugged leaving your bot scratching its head and throwing errors because token things are moving too fast in between your bot's API requests.

New blocks are created roughly every 400ms. If you are only price checking every second for example then 2 or 3 blocks (thousands of on chain txn's) would have happened since your last price check which is an eternity in terms of coding when you are always thinking in milliseconds so this is something else to keep in mind.

I don't know how much the sniping OG's spend on servers but I did see a conversation in a discord group about somebody paying around $1500 per month for a server and they were in and out of a trade in about 3 seconds (no idea if thats the norm or not). People will also go the extra mile by using an rpc node as geographically close to a validator node as possible or even better, running and using their own validator node which is not easy to do (requires lots of technical knowledge and lots of money) and have their bot go to work on there.

Hard to compete with but you can still have some success with sniping providing you have a solid strategy and can think outside the box but as many people are saying, its like the wild west out there and no doubt new scenarios will be popping up from time to time that maybe your bot might not be able to interpret.

Even if sniping ever becomes a thing of the past, bots will always make great javascript projects as they are always fun to work on.

I think most people snipe pump fun token, sniper bot is super expensive and huge compition where microseconds mater, also a solid strategy is required to filter out scam token as usual and also how much profit you will token, yes "js" is good option, but as long as you work with solana block chain, I think "rust" is the language you should consider best speed and performence. Again super expensive specially server cost. thank you.

yeah rust is a great option. I'd imagine you could get more low-level and vanilla when coding in rust for solana projects. i started learning rust after javascript but i've never built anything with it yet due to my javascript addiction.

You’ll need more than a simple buy/sell trigger, filtering scams and honeypots is where most of the real work is
