I got a LinkedIn connection request today that looked a bit too good to be true.
The sender claimed UNIQLO is hiring a media manager to handle Google, Facebook, and Instagram Ads with a $300K–$500K monthly budget.

Sounds exciting, right? But here’s why I’m skeptical:
  • No mutual connections
  • No official UNIQLO email or verification
  • Huge budget mentioned right away (feels unrealistic for a cold outreach)
Honestly, I doubt a global brand like UNIQLO would outsource massive campaigns to random freelancers via LinkedIn DMs.

Just sharing this so others stay cautious.

Has anyone else seen similar messages? Curious how you handled it.

P.S. If anyone has been caught in this trap, please share your story so everyone knows what these scammers are trying to do. I know it’s about money, but how exactly do they get money out of our bank accounts? Please explain what happened and how they convinced you to pay or give details.

I get that noise sent to me via text from various "companies" several times a week.

Yeah, they are farming something, and I bet you would have to pay for a background check or something.

They always insist to click some link or open .docx file..

Scammers are evolving faster than AI. It's difficult to foresee what they try to pull until you hop in.

yeah... If anyone has been caught in this trap, I request they share their story so everyone knows what these scammers are trying to do. I know it’s about money but how exactly do they get money out of our bank accounts is still not known ?

yeah, be ready for malware lol

It could also be from recruitment agencies trying to farm resumes if your profile is good. This one definitely sounds like scam tho.
