In the morning I accidentally dropped my phone on the floor. Since the screen looked fine, I didn’t think much of it and went on with my day.

After using my phone for few hrs, it started acting weird. The screen was moving on its own and apps were opening by themselves. I thought my phone was hacked. I restarted it but while entering the passcode the last number would not press. After a few tries I managed to log in. I then tried to turn off mobile data but whenever I went to settings the screen closed by itself.

I decided to reset my phone but whenever I tried to enter the passcode random numbers appeared on the screen. I called Apple support from another phone and they helped me reset it. After restarting the touch still did not work properly.

Then they told me that no one hacked my phone and it was just a touch issue because I had dropped it in the morning.

In the end I reset my phone and lost 15k photos and vids (no backup)

My advice for anyone using an iPhone is to always update your iOS and keep a backup of your data.

Sorry to hear about that. I always keep iCloud storage active so all my media goes there automatically.

You should def set that up once your phone is repaired

Have emotions taken over? It sounds like panic response.

This is the biggest lesson learned today ( always have a backup )

Yes, it was a panic reaction. The screen was moving on its own, and I thought someone had remote access, so protecting my privacy felt most important at that time.

that sucks :(
True :(

Learned this the hard way.

Damn losing 15k photos is a nightmare, the 10 bucks I pay for iCloud storage is definitely not getting cut from the budget anytime soon....
I will definitely buy icloud storage this time.
